Try to check if your AC adapter has a light itself. If it the light is off. Then try a known good adapter. If the AC light is green, then try to wiggle the cord from the port and see if it ain't loose. Try to also check if the AC pin is not bent or broken.

Unplug the battery and the power cord. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Plug back in the battery and power cord. Try powering on the laptop. If it powers on you are good to go. If not try contacting Lenovo support.

HP Lap top touch pad locked. How to correct please

By now you probably figured out you have to remove the power cord and battery to turn off the laptop. Let it cool down, 30 minutes or so, and then replace the battery and restart the laptop.

My lap top turns on and then turns off

What model is your laptop? What Operating System?

Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, Remove the screw from the cover that houses the memory then remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Why wont my lap top come on

Hello there.
There's a chance that it's a problem with the battery. But we do need to run some tests to determine the cause of the problem.
1. Kindly make sure the wall outlet is working by plugging inanother device like a TV or lamp, just to check if power is coming through it just fine. 2. Turn off the laptop completely. Unplug all the cables connected to the laptop, including the power cord then remove the battery. 3. Plug the power cord back to the outlet(without the battery inserted) then press and hold the power button on the laptop for 10 seconds. Then check if it would turn on. If it does then it means the problem is with the battery and it needs to be replaced or you can try to charge the battery again with the laptop turned off.
It would also help if you can give me the complete brand/model of the laptop.
Have a nice day.

Lap top will not turn on. receives power from the cord and power supply, but has no indicating lights on the lower left part of laptop. was able to get the lap top to operate after removing and...

Measure the voltage at the terminals of the battery in the laptop. If there is no supply then the power section in the lap tops main board is faulty and needs a check.
However if there is voltage then the battery must be checked if this has failed to charge and is defective. check if the cord from the adapter is not short as it will result in DC power cut off.

When i turn on my notebook it is just black..the screen is blank i cant see anything on my desktop

How I tackle laptop screen stay blank after turning on the power switch?
1. Make sure the power is off.
2. Make sure the lap top is not plugged in (charging cord is not plugged in).
3. Remove the battery from the bottom.
4. Hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds.
5. Plug in the power cord.
6. Turn it on as usual.
If the above instructions doesn't work, try removing and reseating the RAM sticks in the Notebook by following the guides available from page number in the Manual of the Notebook. Try starting the Notebook with one RAM module inserted and do try by inserting one RAM stick in another.
BTW, If not, you can try to buy a Laptop LCD Screen Replacement ( one of my friend got it for replacement in Papatek)

Hi Charlie, Thank you for your quick reply, The problem is I do not know how to check to see if it is a problem with the battery or if it is with the power cord. Although I am going off of the assumption...

A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective.
