The fan and lights does not work. I changed the battery on the remote control already. I first thought it was all the bulb so i changed the bulbs to a new CFL (the lights before were also CFL's). The code on these were never changed. I also noticed that ther may be power present because the bulb is blinking with really low (you hardly notice it unless the room is pitch black).

If it's the transmitter or the remote where do i buy one?

    Thanks!

Welcome to the club. This is a known issue with no practical fix without replacing the entire fan with another brand name. My fan has done the same thing, the only thing that works is the light bulbs, and from my research I am lucky to get that much functionality out of it.

The issue is the peice that recieves the signal from the remote is faulty by design. My fan only lasted for about a year before quiting.

U say u have charged the battery, but that doesn't mean the battery is any good, use a volt meter and check the battery voltage.

Hampton Bay remote (023617) turns on wrong fan

Program it to match the receiver's programming in the fan body:
In both the remote (transmitter) and receiver in the fan is a small (about half inch square) DIP switch (Dual In-line Package switch) that has four small sliding switches on it. The pattern of the switch positions must be the same on the transmitter's switch as the receiver's switch for the remote to work (it puts them on the same frequency). There should be an instruction booklet that comes with the remote telling you where exactly the transmit and receive DIP switches are

Have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure that home depot does sell remotes for that brand, although you may have to buy a new receiver to go with it. Otherwise try a lighting store near where you live. They seem to be able to order things like that.

Remote control

in the remote and the fan the little blue box is called a dip switch
you will have to open fans base to access the remote power sender
on both the fan and remote the dip switches have to match in order for the remote to work the fan properly
or your signal will never make it to remote box

No connection between the fan remote and Ceiling fan

The remote-controlled fans that I've seen all have DIP switches in the transmitter (the "remote") and receiver (up by the fan). For the remote to operate the fan, both sets of switches have to be set to the same code. If you happened to bump the DIP switches (and change the code) while replacing the battery, the fan would no longer respond to the remote.

It's been four months since you posted this problem, so you've probably figured that out by now. Still, other users may run into the same problem occasionally.
