How do I change an orphase from a natural gas to propane?

The oven was set up for a natural gas but I need it for propane. The range is fine and has been fixed but the oven did not come with a new orphase for propane. I have spoke to several appliance people who tell me this oven can be changed with a cresent wrench. PLEASE HELP. I have been told there is no part to order.

If you have converted the burners and the regulator, all you have left to do is the oven and broil burners. (for self clean oven model you posted under)
Let's do the broil burner first. Open oven door and look up at the broil burner. At the back of the oven you see the tube that the gas flows through to get to the burner. At the base of this tube is an air shutter opening, and right there you will find a brass nut with a hole in the center of it (the burner's orifice). Use a 1/2 inch wrench to turn the nut three full revolutions clockwise looking at it from the burner side. It is easier to turn it twelve 1/4 revolutions.
Now, do the same to the main burner by removing the storage drawer, remove the one screw holding the metal plate so you can get at the base of the burner, and do the same to that orifice. Do not over tighten the orifices.

How can you tell if a 1985 wolf range burnes gas or propane? it says propane, but we bought it saying it was for gas? And how much would it cost to change out? Thanks, Mary Kaye

Most ranges are easy to convert from propane to gas or vice versa. If there is a gas regulator installed on the back gas inlet, you could see if it is running 3-6" WC or 10-12" WC, The latter is for propane. If no regulator is present the orifice sizes will need to be checked. Propane has a higher caloric value than natural gas so the orifices are smaller. One way to see would be to install the oven. If the orifices are for propane and you are using natural gas there will be too little flame. I would estimate a conversion would cost no more than $250.00 to $300.00 depending on where you are. I would hire a professional to verify. I know it is expensive but the technician will be able to check your older oven (1985) for potentially dangerous gas leaks etc while he is there.

I have a Frigidaire Stove, Model # FGF316ASA. It was changed from propane to natural gas. The oven works well. The burners, however, will only burn a low flame. Is there a solution for this?

When converting an appliance from propane gas to natural sometimes a technician will drill the orifice to a larger size rather than replace the orifices. Either way is fine, but sometimes the orifices don't get drilled to the correct size. The regulator must be on the propane setting if it is a convertible regulator. If your oven is working fine.... the top burner orifices probably need to be checked that they are the correct size. A simple fix.

Stove converted from natural gas to propane burners work fine but oven has about 8'' of yellow flame and comes up over diverter into oven. air shutter makes no difference full open or full close and...

The orifice, holes that the gas comes out to the burner)s) for the oven was not changed out.Gas is measured in inches, Natural gas runs abourt 5-7 inches of presure, Ppropane runs about 12-15 inches of pressure, much more. The orifices, holes that the gas comes out, for natural gas, are larger to send more gas to burner. With propane, the orifices are WAY smaller, because the pressure is much higher.

Switched from natural gas to propane now oven flames up sides how do I fix? Model#362.75571691

Propane and natural gas are two different fuels and require adjustments to the appliances to which theye are connected. Typically, when converting to propane from natural gas, a pressure regulator and a change in gas jets are required. This is because propane has a different heating value (hotter) and behaves differently.

Also, propane doesn't burn as cleanly as natural gas so after you have made the hardware changes, if you start to smell something in the kitchen, you may need to crack a window slightly to provide for better venting.

Please be careful

Ge propane kitchen range changed to natural gas.can't get the ove

Hi, Did you flip the cap on top of the regulator? As far as adjusting the bake/broil orfices, all you will nee to do is turn them 2 full turns counter clockwise. Start the oven and watch the flame. It should have blue tips as much as possible.
You might have to raise or lower the orfice adjustment as needed.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
