Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, the unit must be opened up for a look and see. Pls keep in mind that this is a plasma monitor and repair could and would be challenging even for seasoned technicians. This of course would require a more than familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

If you are that comfortable working with electronics and would venture a DIY, foremost to check would be the CTRL board and the Z SUS board. The power supply would seem to be working since their is still the standby power indicator. This could also be verified by a clicking sound, that of the relay engaging and dis-engaging.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Solder all the joints on the board so as to get rid of any loose joints causing this problem. Also check for faulty transistor or capacitors and replace them.if u need to know what capacitors look like just look out for capacitor images in google.
thanks.

Open the device and check if any of the capacitor on the board is bulged or torned out.if u find any of them ,replace them with new ones of same value.the tracking will get complete and ur tv will be ok.

This be a output transistor shorts out. Due to the nature of the type of power supply, the main fuse won't burn out. The switching power supply will shut down because of the over current condition due to the shorted output transistor.

Yep, Something has blown. We had a Monitor do this... Didn't bother for support, because it was kinda old, But if your still under warranty, you shouldn't have to pay for repair.

That is because one of the internal components has blown.

When that happens it is usually a capacitor or another component that has blown, the component must be replaced by a technician,

call the number listed on your owner manual to get support.

I have a Vizio p50hdm while watching heard a pop noise and tv went out cant turn back on.I replaced main board and power board and still doesn't come on any Ideas?

The power amplifier chip (which goes "pop" when it goes bad) may be located on the board where the IR sensor is. Sometimes (but not always) you can make the TV come on by holding the power button in _until_ the TV comes on. But that usually only works when the chip is "going" bad. If you heard the pop, it's probably shot. Also, check for a fuse on _any_ of the boards, and possibly a main fuse at the back of the TV.

Check and replace damaged component/s at it main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Picture went out on Vizio P50HDM

Check you voltages before just swapping out boards. Although a YSUS is common for no picture, so is your upper and lower Y Buffer boards or the panel itself. Check youe -VSC voltage. Does it look like it is being loaded down? If so then your YSUS is not the problem. You can run the set with just the upper or lower Y Buffer boards untill the load is gone. That will let you know wich board to replace.

Picture went out on p50hdm Vizio Plazma tv after loud POP

It's either the backlight lamp or backlight inverter is busted due to a power failure or fluctuation. Here's how to determine which is which:
  1. Grab a flashlight.
  2. Turn on the TV.
  3. Shine the flashlight onto the screen.
  4. If you cannot see any display even a faint one, the backlight inverter is dead, else the backlight lamps are busted.
  5. Replace which ever is the culprit.
