There is batteries in the remote and at the loggs. Replace both. Mine had a black box under the logs on the left side tht had 4AAA batteries. Be carefull that the wiring is not pulled loose.

I have to keep pressing the reset button. It lasts about a day. The unit is 6 years old

This will help you obtain a manual for just about any electronic device out there, provided it was files with the FCC (which is nearly every legal device). This will work for everything from Mobile Phones to Bluetooth Devices to TVs and Universal Remotes to Applainces and just about any other device you can think of.

Just follow the below steps.

Locate the FCC ID, either on the product or the packaging.
Examples: BCGA1241 or DZL201678 or YPD-HF300

Note: hyphens (-) are counted as part of the FCC ID and it's a good idea to have the model number though most time you can figure it out after the search.

Goto FCC Search Site: https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

Enter FCC ID, including hyphens (see image below).
First Field: (First three characters of FCCID)
Second Field: (Remaining characters of FCCID)

Locate your specific model, then click the "Detail" link.

Then, select User Manual (usually a PDF file, so you will need a reader).

Remote unit is draining my car battery. Unit

Hi Rog,

I would first ask you, 'What has changed'?

Then, 'Why do you think this unit is the cause'?

Have you had the battery load tested? Not just voltage but it's ability to hold a charge, to provide the necessary power under load conditions.

Try disconnecting the negative terminal overnight. If when you reconnect in the morning, it's dead, the cause is not a drain.

Why not go on http://www.ebay.com?

There you will get it. I got one for my Galant and it works great.

Good luck.

But even if you pick the one available, it makes no difference. It will be programmed for your car. They are mostly universal.

I had the same problem. Just came home one day and tried to to turn the fireplace on and got no beep and no fire. Not sure if you still need this but I just finished repairing mine by trial and error. This might work for you so give it a try. If you look at the rear side of the receiver (left black box on the left side of the fireplace insert) you should see a series of white dip switches. I turned them all to the off positions and now my remote works.

REMOTE STARTER NOT WORKING COMPLETELY

Here is page 2 of the owners manual, Hope it helps.

This will not start the vehicle if any one of the following situations exists;
The vehicle's hood lid is opened.
The gear shift selector is not in Park.
The brake pedal is depressed.
The safety control switch is in the Off position.

1. To start the vehicle, press and release the transmitter button two times within 2
seconds. The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed 5,10,15,20 minute run cycle. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or remain on depending on the setting by your installation center.

2. When you arrive at the vehicle, turn the ignition key to the ON position (not the spring loaded start position), then step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter. The
vehicle will continue to run, but now on it's own power.
NOTE: The engine will stop running before the pre-programmed run cycle has expired if you perform any one of the following functions;
-Press and the button on the keychain transmitter two times within 2 seconds.
-Depress the brake pedal.
-Open the vehicle's hood
-Place the unit in the safety control disabled mode.
PRLED SAFETY CONTROL SWITCH

The Push-Button LED control switch allows you to temporarily disable the remote starting function of the system. This recommended whenever the vehicle is being serviced. To place the system in the service mode:

1) With the system disarmed/unlocked, and the ignition switch off Press and Hold the PRLED on.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3) The LED begins to flash two short flashes followed by one long flashes and continues this pattern until returned to normal mode of operation. This puts the unit into the R/S Override mode indicating that the remote start is in the service mode and will not start from RF or any other input Posse or otherwise.
To Exit R/S Override Mode
1) With the system disarmed, Press and Hold the PRLED on.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3) The LED turns off indicating that the R/S unit is fully functional one again

My remote won't start the fire in my vent free fire place.

Mine did the same thing. What happens is when the batteries die and the remote sits, the remote loses its address. I found this link to the remote manual online. You have to locate your receiver in the fireplace insert. On the receiver there is some dip switch settings. Open up the link below and go to the appendix at the bottom and find your address of the receiver, mine was 005. Go to your remote and power on. Hit the up arrow until you are at the timer. Now hit the left arrow on your remote 10 times, this will diplay the address of the remote, mine was 000, change this number to match your address of the receiver by hitting the up arrow on the remote, I changed mine to 005. Now hit the left arrow again and this will take you out of programming. Power on your remote and should work, enjoy.
