Question about Canon PIXMA MX300 All-in-One Printer
Just bought a Canon MX300. The printer is working fine but the scanner won't install. It says that it has installed but it hasn't. Looks to me like something is preventing it from installing. Any ideas?

Your expert wanted me to remove all the XP upgrades from the Add/Remove Programs menu (26 files individually) and restart after each one. Upon further investigation, I discovered a much easier solution. I found that Clearing the Block from the Windows Firewall fixed my problem. I clicked on a box "Unblock" in the CAPT Windows Firewall Utility window. Presto I can now print.
I fixed the problem on my own and was not able to use any of the "expert" advice. Please do not charge me for the "help".

First the drivers need to be installed, then the program you use to scan may need to be told that's the scanner to use.
Your program should then work fine
Usually you get a CD with it that does all that and supplies program for all functions.
