Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue might be with the Webcam Driver or the Application.

Hence, it would be better to re-install the Webcam Driver and the Application.

You may download the Driver and the Application from he below links:

1) Webcam Driver:

Please download and install the Driver and the Application.

Once you have installed both the Applications, restart the Computer for the settings to take effect.

You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from the Sony WEB site.
Select your model notebook and the Windows drivers you require. Please click on this link to the Sony support WEB site :-

Sony doesn't provide a teardown for the motherboard online. You may need to bring your notebook to their authorized service center.

Try this manual, it will explain and show everything to you. Look in the index to the left when the file comes up and click on HDD.

your hard drive has failed as far as i can tell you will need to replace it take it to a sony store for verification

most likely, you need a bios update. my computer had this problem. you have to dig around some sony asia websites for them

Update your video card driver if error remains,
Re-install your video card driver if error remains,
Connect your machine to an external monitor and see if display is ok.
If all of these didn't solve your problem I suspected your motherboard is faulty.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.

There won't be anything that Sony can do about that currently, it would seem that it will not work on Windows 7 due to a lack of drivers.
