Question about Mitsubishi WD-62525 62" Rear Projection HDTV
We haven't used our tv in a couple months (we moved and never brought the tv with us until now). Last year our tv indicated we were going to need a new lamp soon...so we bought the lamp but never replaced it because the picture was still fine. Once the tv was brought here this year, the tv turned on fine (picture came up)--and this was maybe 2-3 months ago. Today, we turn the tv on and you can hear the tv come on but no picture. The green timer light came on and blinked then the red light under lamp came on. So we replaced the lamp (with the new lamp we bought from mits. last year) and the tv still wont show a picture. The light blinks green once turned on then goes to a steady green, but still no picture. We take out the lamp and put it back in, and the tv picture still doesnt come on (black screen) and the light blinks green, but now, red light comes on. Not sure what to do. We definitely can't afford a new tv at this time nor pay someone to come fix it. Hope this doesnt sound confusing.

SOURCE: Lamp light turns red
Yes this is the signal for a bad lamp. Other things can cause this. 1. Look at the new lamp. make sure it still looks good. not broken with little glass pieaces in it. 2. When you turn on the tv, put your ear to the lower back part of the tv near the middle. Listen for the start up of the color wheel (a low high pitch sound only at the start up of the motor). If this is good you will here a ticking sound only if the lamp dose not light.
Now with all this info. If the lamp lights (as seen from the back of the set) and goes out after a few seconds and you did not here the color wheel spin up, the color wheel is bad.
If you here the color wheel spin up and no ticking sound, the Ballast is bad.
The ballast part no. 939P978010
The color wheel is not avialable from Mits. You will have to replaced the light engine. It cost to much. Just buy a new tv.

Capacitor failure is the most likely scenario the FMT ans Signal PWB would cause the picture interference and the power pwb would cause the lamp light to turn red and give a 34 code when the device/ input and menu buttons are pressed in together and held for five seconds. That chassis has issues with every board in the chassis having failed capacitors you can get repair kits for the V26 chassis at the follwing link that come with instructions. Your model is the V26 chassis. Heres the link.

The DM is failing to complete the boot sequence thats why the power led is continuously blinking green. The V26 DLP DM repair kit will usually repair that issue you can get the kit at the following link which includes the replacement capacitors and step by step instructions with pictures on how to do the repair. Its listed under the repair kits category.
