We had a virus on ower main comp and where cut of the net.we had 3 comps set up with with a ADSL2+modem DM111P and an cable /DSLweb safe router RP614v3 and when we got back on the net only the modem will work how can we get the router to work

Check your network settings Start, control panel, networking and sharing center. Click on your connection, properties. Click on TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties. Make sure the settings say to obtain IP address automatically and also for DNS, then reboot the modem and computer.
Because you need to match the security setting on the wireless router to sign on to the wireless portion of the modem. If you flip it over, you should see a sticker with WEP on it- write that down, view available wireless networks, and enter in the key from the sticker when prompted- at that point you should be able to use the wireless portion of the modem

Step 1: Shutdown the computer. Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable. Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds. Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable. Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable. Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings Step 7: test the Internet connection.
if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router
configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

signal is bouncing off doors and walls to get to your comp
move comp closer to modem if it increases and your signal strength increases then you know youll have to be close to modem
other problem someone taped your signal and it working off of it call your provider to come out test the wireless signal strength and or password your wireless router settings so some one cant interfere with signal
i dont like wireless myself in the home i go straight cable with ether net cord this always has strenght and cannot be tapped
if you are not able to connect through your main comp using wireless router...then first of all check the ipaddress of computer by..
start>run>type cmd>then type ipconfig in command prompt screen.check whether you get the ip address as 192.168...........and default gateway as 192.168........
if anything else reinstall nic card on your comp
