Dropped my Palm TX, IR no longer works

My Palm TX has seen heavy use since I got it over a year ago. I dropped it on the floor once or twice, and now the IR port does not seem to work. I can beam out, but I cannot receive. Also, it no longer recognizes my wireless keyboard. Is there any hope?

I went to the Palm support website. It seems that after any reset, including a soft reset, the Beam Receive function has to be re-enabled. Follow this path:

  • Applications==>Prefs==>Power
  • Beam Receive==>Off==>On==>Done
For more information: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,kb=PalmSupportKB,CASE=obj(14838),ts=Palm_External2001

I also updated the driver for my Palm wireless keyboard.

Cheers!

I lost the Application feature on the Palm TX.How can I restore it back?

Do you know how you lost it? It should be hard programmed in the palm. It should be accessible by pressing the home key once or twice.
If I'm misunderstanding you and Application is an icon that you haven't personally deleted then your handheld may be in a different category than what you want. Tap the word at the top righthand corner of the screen and a drop down menu should show itself. Tap the top option which should display all icons installed (but not on a SD card) and hopefully that'll get things cleared up.
Hope this helps!

Tx will no longer sync with outlook 2003 or outlook 2007 calendars. Software reinstalled, tx reset, latest updates for syncing with outlook 03 and outlook 07 loaded, still won't sync to outlook calendar...

I would recommend contact the palm free chat. Here is a link for that. I have a TX and have used the chat feature myself and always with good results. Scroll to the bottom of the page and then you will see Palm chat. From there click on chat now and follow the directions. Best wishes.

Hi,
It sounds like the battery might be dead. If I were you I would take advantage of the free chat that palm provides to their customers. I have used it in the past always with good results. I am including a link to that page. Best wishes.

Is there anyway to delete programs from a Palm TX from the desktop?

HI,
Yes there is a way to delete programs. Take your TX and in the upper left of the screen you will see the time. Tap the time with your stylus. A drop down menu will appear. Tap "DELETE". Your TX will generate a list of all the programs and applications on your hand held. Once that list is generated tap or highlight the one you want to delete and the tap the delete button at the bottom of the screen. Once you have deleted all the programs you want tap done and then do a hot sync. They should be gone from then on. If you find this helpful please rate me. Best wishes.
