Sounds like a distributor or timing issue, a common issue with these cars sometimes. Our Civic LX was giving us the same codes, We replaced the distributor and reset the timing... problem resolved. Not sure about the 2005 Civic year model, the ignition system may have changed with the newer models...

SOURCE: how do you read the engine light codes on 2005 civic lx

Teh check enign light needs to be rwad from a scanner/code puller. you can buy a cheap one at harbor freight or ebay. AZ/Advance auto pulls the code for free as well.

No there is no filter in the gas fill spout. If you drop soemthing its more then likely in your gas tank. Only was to get there is to drop the tank. What did you put in it?

SOURCE: P1298 Code Fuel/Air Metering

Are you sure you wrote the correct code. According to Honda, P1298 is a high ELD circuit voltage. If what I just put is correct, Honda has a service bulletin as this is a common problem( it could be another fault, but this is the most likely choice).
The ELD has a bad solder joint. I have done several of these, you will need to replace the ELD, and this is how.

1 D/C the negative battery cable (make sure you know your radio code, it will be needed to use the radio again)
2 Unbolt the fuse box that is in the engine bay.
3 Attached to the fuse box underneath there is a plastic cover, remove this cover.
4 There is a 3 pin connector under this cover. Remove it
5 Flip the fuse box back over, there are 2 big fuses bolted down, a 40 A and a 80A
6 Under these fuses is the ELD, remove it and pull the bar that sticks out of it.
7 Stick the bar in the new ELD
8 Put everything back together. Do the idle learn (just idle the car for 10 minutes with no loads on such as radio, headlights etc..)

This is probably the first thing they will do if you bring it to Honda assuming the code you have is P1298.

I have a 2001 linclon continental and the incomplete monitors showing are catlyst, evap, 02 sensor, 02 htr and the egr.

Wow, did you hook it up to a scanner and get any codes? If you can post what the codes are, it would be simpler to digagnos

Using my OBD II on 2000 honda prelude trouble codes PO401 & (PO401 pd) all reads MIL on, monitors, 1 INC, EVAP, 7 ready, MISFIRE, FUEL, COMP, CATLYST, 02 sensor, 02 HTR, EGR. Will be cleaning out EGR, BUT...

I would start with whatever is causing the misfire. That seems to be the core of your emissions codes. Putting all codes together it seems to be clogged injectors vacuum leak. Seems to be causing stalling too.

I have no idea about cars so my maxima 01 service light on i scaned it n say 2 codes come on loke p1401 mil on, monitrs, 1 inc, EGR, 7 ready, misfire, fuel, comp, catlyst, Evap, 2 snsr, 2HTV WHAT DOES THIS...

Only 1 code (p1401) means EGR Temperature Sensor problem. Bad Sensor or EGR valve may need to be replaced. Autozone has some ways to test your sensor and egr valve.
If you do have a bad sensor it is about $170 average. If you have a bad EGR valve it is about $150 average.
Hope this helps!!! Let me know if it does!

Diagnostic codes I got from 2002 lancer P0421 misfire fuel comp catlyst EVAP 02 sensor 02 htr EGR What does these code mean?

This all comes down to the catalytic converters. More than likely you will need to replace both of them plus your sensors as well. This can become very expensive with OEM equipment. I would suggest you shop around and see which is cheaper but still has good parts. Hope this helps! Have a good one!
