Question about RCA P52926 52" Rear Projection Television
Owners manual shows there is a menu option under the screen menu to (adjust projection tv) option 6. there is only 5 options in my screen menu????. it dosn't . is there some kind of code that you need to access an option to adjust the convergence? we moved the tv recently and it was fine for a day untill my kids came and told me that the screen looked funny. i looked and the colors were seperated slightly and the top and bottom margins are bowed inward. what do i do? please help. this is very frustrating
This is a very nice tv very strong, but you have a problem on the convergence circuit or more likely on the power circuit for the convergence and this is the reason why the main processor it doesn't recognize this circuit. it need service not a mayor problem.

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Below are more details for both items. Also, complete repair kits with instructions and repair support are avail from site such as www.TvRepairKits.com
Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then yourconvergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
Common Symptoms include....
