Try booting to Safe Mode and see if the problem still exists. Press F8 when you're on the Dell Screen and choose Safe Mode. If the problem does not happen in Safe Mode, then do this:

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type msconfig
4. Choose Diagnostic Startup
5. Restart to Normal Mode.

Keyboard failure on dell dimension 2400

Your keyboard needs to be pluged into one of either a USB port, if it has a USB connection or a PS2 Port if it has a PS2 connection.

USB is the rectangular shaped port, while the PS2 is a round, usually purple coloured connector.

Try pluging it in and out, with USB connection type try another USB port at the rear of the chassis or on the front too.

It is possible that the keyboard is faulty, in other words it has come to the end of it's life. Meaning that you may need another keyboard.
Try this keyboard on another computer, a friends computer will do. You could even try a friends keyboard in this computer as another test.

Take care!

I am not sure what OS you are using, however assuming you are using Windows, you can change the repeat rate and other functions of the keyboard in the Control Panel under Keyboard.

Mouse and keyboard suddenly stopped working on Dell b110 desktop

Disconnect external peripherials except keyboard and mouse .Disconnect the power cable.Hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain flea power.Reconnect the power cable and turn on the computer When the blue DELL™ logo appears, press immediately. In bios there is option for Function key F9 or F10 probably to reset to defaults.SAve and exit and restart the system .Then try to use the PC restore feature on dell. check http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim1100/en/SM/syssetup.htm#wp1055545

Good Luck.

Keyboard Error

Sounds like intermittent keyboard failure. If it is the old style keyboard connector (small round jack), shut down, remove it completely, and then plug it back in. If it is a USB keyboard, you are probably having USB keyboard support problems. Try moving the keyboard to a different USB port - usually the ones closest to the parallel port or network jack that are sure to be on the motherboard itself.

Hope this helps...
