How do I adjust the flame on a MGC5430 gas cooktop? Flames are too yellow and cause black soot on bottom of pans. Doesn't seem to have an air shutter adjustment

Is this unit set up for natural gas or propane? New stoves usually come with ORIFACES for both gasses. They would install between the on/off knob and the burner tube under the stove top. They may be tapped to the under burner area of your stove. If you lift your top stove cover you may find them. If you don't find them, you may need to purchase the correct applications for your stove. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Control knob doesnt adjust flame height?

Use a manometer to insure lp gas pressure is correct. The regulator for the stove may need adjusting. The air mixture adjustment may not be correct for PL as well.

Remove the front panel to find where the gas injectors enter the burner tubes you will see they are cut away and have a screw holding an outer ring which is adjustable, open them up more to get more air in .

LPG question

hi my name is mark, lp will yellow tip alittle. check if your burners have air shutters some do some dont, they will be on the burner tube were the burner slips over the orifice. and should have a screw to keep them in place. loosen screw then carefully while the burner is lit open them some. be careful not to burn yourself, and careful not to open to far or you have problems getting them to light properly, and get popping on shut down of burners. hope this helped.

Hello dishmama1, is this a sealed burner cooktop? If so then remove the cap and make sure all the holes are clean. Restricted burner holes can cause and issue with the flame. Also with it off make sure the area where it sits is clean and the cap sits flat. Hope this helps

Gas Hob Flame

Hello
Tha sounds to me like the air mixture nedds to be adjusted on the stove, It's not difficult to do, just rotate it until the flames loose the yellow or your pans will be stained with soot.
The should be by the fittings (convertion fittings), you know?
LP Gas to Natural Gas or Natural Gas to LP Gas.
Hope this help

Creda 4 burner, converted to LP

Your flame is perfect if it's just the very tip that is yellow or white. All burners should be adjusted this way, on highest flame.
