SOURCE: tom tom password lock

the fact its locked suggests its stolen and the seller should be reported to ebay however connect the device to ur pc and sync it the serial number should be blocked by tt if its stolen if not set ur own password via the menu on tt home via ur pc (u cant change passwords on the device alone it has to be done on the pc )

My tomtom lost signal today it has not come back.the model i have is tomtom one 125. the blue arrow is not on the correct street.my tomtom is only 6 month old

I am tempted! yes here goes Your signal wont come back, your signal wont come back ( Old Tune of my boomerang wont come back)

It probably wont if the battery is flat , so first try charging bthe battery before turning to map programming. If that doesn't work then expect the worst.... you have damaged the SIIRF chip which is the chip that contacts the satellites
Very expensive to reapair cheaper to buy a new GPS generally
tomtom are notorious for this problem, but most times its caused by user abuse of overcharging or starting the car with the GPS plugged to DC spikes are common even though they dont blow the fuse in the charger plug. Even Mobile phones should be plugged after the engine is started. none of the GPS Distributors othert than one wilkl tell you of this money spinner. Next time aroumd you may want to consider an ALTINA see Marbella Australia and also read their FAQ on caring for your GPS

I needs help about down'oading the software on my tomtom.i don't have a signal on the tomtom.

You need to connect the Tom Tom to the computer with a USB cable. If it is connected properly then it will ask Conect to the computer Yes / No. If you say Yes you can then use Tom Tom Home (supplied on the CD which came with the SatNav) to manage software / map downloads.

You don't need a satellite signal to download software / maps.

No GPS signal?

I had this problem (waiting for a valid GPS signal). I did a factory reset and the unit started working again (yes, I lost all my settings, but what good is a GPS unit that just sits there waiting for a valid GPS signal?). To do a factory reset, go to menu -> change preferences -> Reset factory settings.
