You might get lucky with just a wire fell off. When you get to the motor, clean everything. The reversing must be controlled by the timer, back track all motor wires to the timer, check for dust or any other junk in the timer. Compressed air cans are great.

Impson Eziloader 4kg, drum will not self start - goes with a push-start until stops to change direction but then won't start again and need to push. Has been overloaded at some stage?

I believe there is a capacitor on your motor(7-10 MFD) I would replace this and then ensure that the drum is reversing properly. It is usually just a short 2 to 3 turns, and the "normal" direction is much longer. This is done via a small motorized unit, usually called a "MOTOR TIMER", and the contacts inside it can get a bit burned an pitted if running for a while with a deteriorated start capacitor. If the motor and drum seem OK, but it does not reverse, you might need to change that unit. More expensive dryers might have a timer relay for this, or an electronic timer activating the relay.I hope this helped Tim

Good Afternoon, My dryer will turn on heat up but after a few mins it will stop turning and the timer will still be on. I can unplug it to reset and turn it back on and again the same thing. I have a model...

Seems to me like you have a motor going out or maybe a wheel or idler that is binding the tub. Can you turn the tub easily by hand? Replacing the motor is not too difficult. The blower is reversed threads. Here's a nice video of a motor replacement.
If your motor bearings are dry you can try adding oil to them and sometimes get a a little more life out the motor I have a pictoral HERE

I have a manual and more repair photos and videos HERE

Motor heats up and stops running how do remove

The blower fan on this model has reverse threads where it screws onto the motor shaft. At the small space between the motor and the rear wall of dryer you will see that the blower wheel has a square neck that will allow you to hold it stationary with a large crescent wrench. while holding the blower grip the pulley on the front of the motor with another wrench (or channel locks) and turn the motor shaft clockwise to break the blower loose. Sometimes a quick motion is better to free it as it may be on the motor threads pretty tight.
Good luck on this!

Clean up dryer. Lock down shaft and remove blower. Pop motor mount clips. Unplug motor. make hote of position f motor. Install new motor use nutdriver to snap down clips. I have the manual and some photos. In my sleep I can completely replace a motor in less than an hour and that includes oiling the rollers and idler and doing a through hoovering out the machine. This machine is worth replacing the motor and really a breeze to repair. Nothing has worked better for over 50 years. Go for it.

Kenmore Heavy Duty 80 Series The motor was sounding different the last few days. When I push start, the dryer trys to start but sounds like it is straining. When the start button is let go, the dryer...

Your motor is bad. The hardest part of motor replacement is removing the blower wheel. It helps to know the threads are reversed(left handed). Yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out of your way. Get the drum out and clean out the lint.I like to sit a dryer outside on a good work surface elevated( I have a lift) a truck tailgate or patio table works just as well. It heps to have a good shop vac but you old upright will work too. The heart of the dryer is the motor. Todays new appliances are expensive and costly to repair. I recommend motor replacement.

Buzz when the unit reverses

It fixed itself; when I bought the unit (used) the rear lower panel was missing due to ham-handed movers. This part has the exhaust port. While inspecting the unit, I tipped it fowrard and backwards; the buzzing stopped when tipped fwd.
Once I installed the new part, whatever was causing the interference or harmonically upset.. all is good.
I DID receive the parts manual from a friendly parts department; I'll try to post that here somewhere.

Dryer Problem

i dont think any thing is wrong with it if it stops for a few secs then starts spinning the other way its supposed to now if it stops and doesnt reverse at all you have a promblem it dont have brakes like a car so in order to stop to reverse the drum it lowers voltage to the motor and thats the groaning your hearing it has to stop completly to reverse or it would trash the drive motor so its programed with enough deley to make sure the motor has stopped the reversing action is supposed to give you less wrinkles
