You might get lucky with just a wire fell off. When you get to the motor, clean everything. The reversing must be controlled by the timer, back track all motor wires to the timer, check for dust or any other junk in the timer. Compressed air cans are great.

Power seat motor

Fron first principles, the reverse movement of the motor is caused by reversing power polarity to the motor. If he motor runs in one direction and not the other then it isthe switch. It is not conecting power to the reverse contact. Check.replace switch.

Gl1800 reverse stopped working. I haven't used the bike since last oct/nov and everthing else seems ok. presume reverse must have same fuse as starter motor but not shore. Any ideas?

There is host of problem incured with this. The linkage to the starter motor maybe out of adjustment. The switch push for reverse and the light will come on the dash. That switch can cause problems. The whole switch assembly has to be change/not cheap. Try some WD-40 and work the switch back in forth. Go to Goldwing Goldwing there are good help manuals for all goldwing. To check reverse start motor and leakage require a lot of space.

Heter blower is 50 - 50 to work or not from start up. 'if' it comes on it works for minutes, it will slow down as engine speed increases, back to full when clutch dipped to change gear, then slows down...

Items to check with blower motor:
First there is NO correlation to engine speed and blower motor.
Blower motor may be dying, Blower resistors are defective, on/off switch.
If there is no voltage to the reverse switch, then you have to back probe that wire and see where the open is.
The answer to your question yes there is a common connection. Probably at the fuse box. Like I said earlier you have to back probe wire to reverse switch and find out where it is open. Good luck

2005 Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing reverse stopped working

Hi, Bill_prebble before testing any electrical component in the Reverse Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries otherwise the usual suspects are:
1. The reverse electric motor fuse was blown.
2. Reverse button stuck in the depressed position.
3. Run/off switch in the off position.
4. Bike not in neutral.
5. Faulty relay, reverse actuator, solenoid, regulator module,
6. Wire connectors in the reverse system faulty due to corroded, bent, broken, loose, retracted or missing wire pins and sockets.
7. Reverse cables not properly adjusted.
8. Faulty reverse lever components.
9. Reverse lever not in the on position.
10. The side stand is in the down position.
11. The reverse motor has failed and needs an overhaul.

My hummer only works in 2nd gear but not in 1st or reverse, do you think it's a switch?

I know it's a switch - what else COULD it be? And NO, you don't need (in all likelihood) a NEW switch. Clean the contacts and you'll be good to go

Passenger window stopped working, I removed the fuze and both the front and rear passenger windows stopped working. I guestimate the motor for the passenger window is no good, 3 part question, #1-how do I...

There are some instructions at the link. There are my notes at the second link. Yes, do text the motor by running jumper wires to your battery. Reverse polarity to try both directions of motion. You wull have to drill out the rivets and replace them with short bolts. Sometimes the bolts come with the new motor.

it is possible that the start/run winding is open cicuit or cable connections via the capacitor you mentioned , is it distorted , any sign or leakage . as it is on a stair lift the motor has to be reversed , is the reversing switch intact.
