Re: Onkyo AV Receiver TX-SR 805 no display on the...
I followed the link above and it worked perfectly. Actually, you should use the page before which is this page http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=857502&page=578. Scroll all the way down almost to the end to see the "805 display tutorial". I went through my stock of resistors and found 2 10-ohn 1/2 W so I used them instead of the 1W that author recommended and they worked fine. This gentleman Cambrian is more than a genius, he's a Godsend ;)

You can use a DS-A5 iPod docking station or a RCA Y-adaptor found at retailers such as APPLE, BEST BUY, RADIO SHACK, AMAZON, etc.: http://www.amazon.com/APPLE-COMPOSITE-AV-cable-ZML/dp/B004EWEX9Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331155139&sr=8-1You can use a DS-A5 iPod docking station or a RCA Y-adaptor found at retailers such as APPLE, BEST BUY, RADIO SHACK, AMAZON, etc.: http://www.amazon.com/APPLE-COMPOSITE-AV-cable-ZML/dp/B004EWEX9Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331155139&sr=8-1 . The good news. I have a setup similar to what I think you're trying to do and it works great!
The Onkyo M-282 stereo amp for the 901's is the perfect solution. Run it with the Active EQ between the receiver Front L&R Pre-Outputs ** and the 901's amp channels.
**Onkyo SR805 Pre-Out Front >>> Bose EQ Amplifer IN
Bose EQ Amplier OUT >>> Onkyo M-282 IN
Set the Input Level on the back of the Onkyo to MAX. The receiver controls everything just fine after you run through your level setup routine again.
I was looking a the 12v triggers on both units and it looks like you only have a Zone 2 trigger so that wouldn't work for turning on your M-282. I guess you're going to have to turn it on and off the old fashioned way, like I do mine.
This is a common problem on onkyo receivers like the 805, 875 etc. The front panel display board has 2 faulty resistors(marked 9304 & 9310) which can blow out easily. Replacing them with some very basic soldering, resolved the issue for me.

The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.
