Question about Electrolux Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I am doing an inventory and need to know what type of refrigerant would have been used in an Electrolux window AC unit. No model or serial number, but probably manufactured in 1990s.

Some other window units were R22. Was it just Electrolux that favoured the R12?

Thanks very much for your help.

MOST OF THESE WINDOW UNITS WERE R12 UNITS YOU CAN LOOK INSIDE CABINET AND SOMEWHERE IT SHOULD HAVE A FILL CHART TELLING HOW MUCH AND WHAT TYPE , THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO BE 100% . BECAUSE SOME OF THE LATER MODELS USED 134 ,OR 134A DO NOT MIX REFRIGERANTS

How to find serial #

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You do not need a serial number. The serial number is only specific to that unit.

Go into the following web site. Type in your model numbers above. You will get a list of 24 refrigerators that start with those numbers.

The 24 in the number means your unit is 24 cubic foot.

Where is the reset button on my electrolux fridge?

Good Afternoon Friend, thank you for your post! I see the temperature in your Electrolux refrigerator is too warm and would like to know how to reset it. May I please have your model number? The serial tag, which lists your model number, is typically located inside the cabinet, on the right side wall. With this information I can better address the issue at hand. In the meantime, please double check the temperature control. If the temperature is set too warm, set control to a colder setting and allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. Thank you - Z.

AF-S80MX Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner: What kind of refrigerant does this unit uses? ...

Most new window units are using R-22 or it's most common alternative R-410A - but you will need to check the 'data tag' on the AC to be sure. All AC units have a data tag (either metal or paper label) - somewhere on the AC - which gives you model number, size, voltage, and type of Refrigerant, as well as other info.

good luck!

I purchased a electrolux model # aofp201ru I need

Hi Robert, I repair and install commercial refrigeration and may be of help to you. You need to determine the size of the evaporator coil so you can match up the condensing unit for it. I don't no the voltage that it is, but this makes no difference, just make sure the condensing unit is the same. The condensing unit comes as a package, compressor, defrost clock, everything you need. All you need to do is run your copper, suction, and discharge lines and electrical through the roof and tie in at the evaporator. Install your driers and site glass at roof on your liquid line going back to the compressor.Your new condensing unit will have your power lines out, marked for you to tie into. You will need to set a disconnect box at the condenser. I am not sure what this box has to run, evaporator fans and a thermostat. All other controls will be with condensing unit. Since you are setting this up simular to a walk-in box, if the box didn't come with a txv, ( Expansion valve) you will need the right one for the evaporator to match. A liquid line solenoid valve at the evaporator to start and pump down the unit when the stat is satisfied. It will be wired into the thermostat down below. When you go to the parts house take all of your model, serial, product numbers with you and cubic inches as well. They will fiqure out the size you will need and what you will need. Wiring is very easy doing what you are doing, but if you feel you need a diagram, ask them and they will come up with a drawing for you to work from. They are very helpful if you are getting this condensing unit from a refrigeration parts wholesale house. Thay will tell you exactly what you will need to split this box. I hope I haven't confused you. It is basically very easy, just take your time and you can do this. Best of luck,

My Dometic trailer refridgerator is warm but freezer is freezing.

Brandi4723,

Unfortunately, you have a bad cooling unit in your refrigerator. Then ammonia smell means that you have a leak in the unit. TURN THE FRIDGE OFF!!! Do not use the fridge on AC or Gas until you have the cooling unit replaced or buy a new fridge. Depending on the model number and serial number of the fridge, it may be under recall by dometic and you might be able to have it repaired for free. If you will provide me with the model number, serial number and the serial number of the cooling unit (found on the outside of the unit in the fridge compartment, lower tank of cooling unit), I can then tell you the pricing of the repairs or whether it is under recall.

Again, TURN THE FRIDGE OFF and do not use it...RISK OF FIRE!!!!

Hope this helps,

Jeff
