I do have the same problem, but I know they make microwave paint if you can get it from an appliance store or you can order through the web - BUT 2 sites I just looked at said a gloss enamel paint, such as that used to paint "model" toys works just as well. In either case: Smooth the old stuff off, sand lightly (you want no metal dust left -or- damaging any coating on the metal) just sand enough to make sure there's no flakes & it's smooth, then use a gloss enamel paint rather it's approved for microwaves or the Testor's kind.

NEXT -Make sure you DRY with Hairdryer to set the paint, and keep the heat to med or low, don't bubble or scorch your work!) and do not use the microwave for 24 hours!! Leave the door open while drying for that 24 hours and for several days afterwards if you can. Any fume smells can be absorbed by using -used- coffee grounds and leaving overnight. Google groups (repair) was one source the other was a repair faq site(Great Site) http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/micfaq.htm.

High-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

It usually comes in either a small brush-on bottle, like nail polish, and a regular spray can.

The paint is coming off the inside of my ge microwave. is it safe to use?

No it is not safe! the white paint is a special type designed for microwave ovens that prevents arcing from the magnetron, because when you get down to bare metal it will cause problems. I would try and contact the GE manufacture or appliance repairman to see if he has the paint available for this kind of work.

Paint inside microwave oven bottom is peeling

The oven cavity will probably start to rust where the paint is gone. If you're up to it, sand it and paint it with a color that matches the interior color. Other then colors, there is nothing special about paint inside a microwave.

My microwave oven has are rust spots;can I paint over them?

Yes, you can paint over the spots and no, it's not dangerous. I'd let the paint thoroughly dry before using the oven -- it could otherwise cause paint to buckle/ripple/etc.

My sharp microwave oven sparks and pops when in use.

1. You have to clean m/w inside from all kind of grease and food resedue.
2. Inspected m/w cavity inside and clean all burning spots with sand paper.
3.Apply touch paint on this spots.

Paint off inside top of microwave exposing metal. Safe to use?

It would be dangerous to do so. Any exposed metal inside a microwave is source for sparks and is extremely hazardous. I would recommend getting the paint job done up, or even better, buy a newer model.

Microwave Oven Interior Paint

Yes, but if this is not fixed, it may flake off and get in your food, or allow grease or food particles to build up on the surface.

The loose paint should really be sanded off, at least.

Then when it's clean and dry, you can apply a little high-temperature appliance paint, available from department stores, home improvement centers, and appliance parts stores.
