Question about HP Pavilion dv4000 Notebook
My hp laptop display would not work. I took it in for service and was told it was the motherboard. I was also told it had to be sent out to be put in a oven to be repaired and was charged $225. one week after geting it back the display did not work again was told this time the mouse pad was shorting out the motherboard. I was charged $95. do not want this to happen again
Does any of this sound right
Thanks for your help
The second time this happened, you shouldn't have been charged, purely for the reason that, if they repaired your motherboard, then it was probably something they did, or didn't do. You should really find out exactly what was wrong, and what they replaced or repaired. Make sure you take note of what they say, some companies will try and make you feel dumb, and that they know more than you. Then contact Hewlett Packard's technical team themselves. Tell them your concerns, and see what they say. Unfortunately, being from the UK, I don't know what your rights are regarding Trading Standards.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
