Just intalled system to new tv. the dvr works but i am not getting a signal

If you're sure everything is connected correctly check your tv input, there is a special input channel for each cable. FOR TV1: RCA: input 1,input2,video 1,video2, if you're using a coax cable: channel 3 or 4. If the problem is on TV 2 you're using a coax cable and it has to be on channel 60 or 73. For a wiring diagram you can visit the official dish website (it's on your bill) & visit the technical support page. This link is for tv1, you will also find the steps for tv2

Upgraded older HD TV to a Sharp 70" smart TV & Home Theater Receiver (Yamaha RX-V575. Have AT&T U-verse HD Cable box. What is the connection sequence using HDMI cables. Searched Yamaha and AT&T sites and...

I dont know about your particular hd hookup , but I take the hdmi cable out of my dish reciever/dvr [digital video recorder] and run it straight to the hdmi input #2 in the back of my apex 40 in lcd-hd-tv

I think take the hdmi output from the at&t u-verse cable box and plug it into the hdmi input of your 70 in sharp smart tv

that will get the input signal from your cable box ,both video & audio, into your tv set.
on the back of your tv set
there should be audio outputs for home theater audio systems that would plug into the audio inputs of the home theater system.

prehaps i am wrong because you say that your yamaha is a home theater* reciever.* is the yahama more than a home theater audio system? What does it recieve?

Idea-- the salesman that you bought it from should be willing to help tell you how to hook it up.

also consider that there are many different ways to hook up vcr's and then dv recorders and dvd recorders and external 2 tera bite hard drives into my tv & dvr . I got that all hooked in & a rats nest of wires. so i can record in hd or sd,on vhs or dvd or dvr
point is that you cant hurt anything by plugging the wrong plug into the wrong jack, as long as the same type of plug goes into the same type of jack.
If its right,it works, if its wrong, it wont work until you plug it into the proper jack.

im sorry ,im 65 am not into knowing all the latest and greatest cutting edge tech ,but i am begining to catch up on my hobby, movie recording tech.

Dvr not responding

There was a software update early this morning which caused your recvr to go to recovery mode until it downloads the new software which takes about 4 hours. Once this is done you should be just fine!

Motorola dvr dct6412 locked channels

Check with your provider to ensure that you are in expanded services, or limited. Because being on limited services the box will lock you out of those channels. If you are in billing for those services and you checked the batteries on your remote and they are good and you get a solid red blink when you change channels not a double blink (indicating that your batteries are dying), Then try power cycling your DVR by, removing the power supply and waiting 3sec then plug it back in. Your box should shut off, turn itself back on, then go into the load screen, then, once the load screen display shows on your tv and on box display, wait for your box to completely load (don't touch nothing until the correct time shows up, meaning that it has completed the load process) Once the process is complete turn box back on and you should have you guide back up and (No Data) on your program schedule(Don't Worry!!) it will populate, with 15-20 mins.

Now try to ch. up and down and see if that fixed the problem. also make sure nothing is blocking the sensor. If all else fails and you changed the battery, called your cable provider and request a box swap, (be sure to watch all your recorded shows because they go bye, bye with the cable guy!)

Dish 625 DVR recorder won't play recorded shows. It gives me an error code (05)

Hi I will be more than glad to assist you in this concern. First press the power button on the front panel of the receiver for 10secs. once you press it the receiver will turn off and it should turn on by itself, once it turns on by itself you will see attention 015, press the menu button on the upper left of the remote, once you see the menu button press 6, 1, 1 on the remote and it should show on the screen point dish, select on check switch, once u are on the installation summary screen, select on test and it should do a test of 1 of 3 or it depends on your sat orbital location that u have.. once its done, it will show the installation summary screen and you should see sat input 1 & 2 with port1 up to 2 or 3 depends on your sat orbital location, all the trans on the sat 119, 110 or 129 if you have should be ok and green. once you see that all ok, select done on the screen, and it will be back to point dish, select done again, and then cancel all the way out of the menu, it should show on the screen attention 015, let it finish until it download the programming guide, once its done it should show a tv pic. press the dvr button and access your recorded event, it should play the dvr event. if the problem still exist, unplug the power of the dvr from the power outlet for 1 minunte then plug it back again and it should acquire the sat signal and download the programming guide, once it shows a pic. press again the dvr button and access the recorded event. it should play the recorded event, just incase the problem still exist, check what will be the exact error msg, write it down in a piece of paper and please feel free to get in touch or you can call on order to for the dish tech support replace the receiver, this is a dvr lost of function.

Adding a dvd player to my dvr and older tv

leave coaxcil cable on dvr ;unplug the colored wires from the dvr output and plug them into the output of the recorder;plug a second set of colored wires into output of dvr and into input of recorder;be sure to set recorder input to proper setting on recorder (input one or two) now you should be able to record what your dvr plays or just use it as a dvd player ; you will need to have all three on to watch tv though.

DVR/TV connection

With the RGB you have to run seperate audio ,I think you have ran the seperate cables for the sound but they are in the wrong place.try changing the RW from the DVR to the TV and you should get sound from them. The unfortunate truth about the HDMI is that the HDMI format has a problem effectivly communicating between components.I am a Directv certified High Definition technition and %50 of the TV's that I connect the HDMI to will not receive the signal. One trick that I have found that works is to make sure you have a picture on the RGB then connect the HDMI.Once you have these connected ,turn your TV off and unplug the power cord from the DVR for 30 sec then plug the DVR in and wait 5 minutes for it to power up then turn your TV on and switch to your HDMI input. This method sometimes works to "Jumpstart" the HDMI input on the TV .There is no guarantee that this will work but is sounds like for now this is your only option,GOOD LUCK.
