What version of windows vista do you have? The basic edition that comes with the computer actually has many bugs that you can only fix with home premium.

In regards to upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 the thing to look at is how long were you running Windows Vista before you did the upgrade.

Normally you would need to reinstall a few driver just because Windows 7 has a different kernel then Vista does but alot of times you are reinstalling the same drivers.

Normally when you are having the problems that you are having this is a sign that you had some problems in Windows before doing the upgrade. This is why in general when doing an upgrade it is good idea to do a full reinstall of the OS with your upgrade. Note with manfactured computers like your notebook what you should do is back your data then do a factory restore of your Windows Vista. After the restore you will have a clean base to do your upgrade on so Windows 7 should run fine.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Have a new dell inspiron 5305 cannot get pogo to load

Sorry. I don't chat. I am one of the free answers. You will have to see if a VISTA version of POGO is available. Sometimes you can tell a program to; "run as.." . Such as tell it to : run as WIn xp or Win 98. It is under properties. If you can load the program into windows then right click the program. Left click properties then left click compatabilities. There you will see "RUN as". If that does not work or if the program will not run you will have to search to see it it is written in a VISTA version,or if you can upgrade to a vista version of the program..

Upgrading the OS Windows XP not possible

Upgrading from OS Windows XP:

you can upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista(ultimate, premium, home, business.......),
you have to buy a Windows Vista CD and install a fresh copy or format.

Some Minimum Requirements:

i) Min 2GB RAM or atleast 1GB RAM(if you have>1GB RAM installation of Windows Vista will not continue)

II) External Graphic Card. for some versions of Windows Vista(to run Aero Interface, special feature only   in some versions of Windows Vista)

NOTE:

"Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor" is a software from Microsoft which you can download from internet, this  can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer.

i.e., when u load this software on windows xp it will suggest which upgrade version of windows vista          will suit your system(based on you system configuration. or hardware components.) and then            you can install the upgraded version of windows xp(mostly windows vista home,.........)

Windows vista will not load on my laptop

Consider the following scenario. You use the net use command to map a network drive to the Sources folder. Then, you run the Setup program from the mapped drive to install Windows Vista. In this scenario, the installation may not finish successfully, and you may receive the following error message: Windows could not load device compatibility data.

CAUSE loadTOCNode(1, 'cause'); This issue occurs if the Setup program cannot access files and folders that are located outside the Sources folder. The Setup program requires access to these files and folders to successfully complete the installation.
RESOLUTION loadTOCNode(1, 'resolution'); To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods: • Do not map a drive directly to the Sources folder. Instead, use the net use command to map a drive to the parent folder that contains the Sources folder. • Run the Setup program by using a universal naming convention (UNC) path instead of by using the net use command to map a drive.

Every time i restart my computer on the black boot screen it gives me an option to start windows vista or enter windows vista setup i recently tried to upgrade to vista ultimate and it didnt work now its...

Do you have any important files that you want to keep?

If so, when the boot screen comes up, select to start windows vista and press F8. choose "Safe Mode". copy all of your files to a flash drive or burn them to a disk.

If not, insert your vista DVD and have your BIOS boot from it.
then it will ask you to do an upgrade or clean install; do a clean install.

Do not interrupt the installation until it finishes.
If you made any backups, now is the time to copy them to your computer.

Hi, Unfortunately Microsoft has blundered and not told anyone. Most older programs will not run in VISTA. I hope you burnt your download to a CD, you could use it at a later date when Microsoft finaly put VISTA right. At this time you only have two choices. Buy all new software that is VISTA compatable or go back to the good old faithful XP. Regards mistyman
