Hello,
The Fix sign on the top of the screen (smaller size) are indicators that calculator is using the FIXed format: All numbers are displayed with a fixed number of decimal digits (in you case it may have been set to 9 decimal digits). You can change that in the setup.
The Grad symbol means that the angle unit is set to grad. This too can be changed to degrees or radians in the set up.
A sure way to achieve mastery of calculator use is to learn how to configure it to fit the types of calculations to be performed.

Hope it helps.

Deg rad grad

You don't.

Angles can be measured using three different units: degrees (360 degrees in a circle), radians (2pi radians in a circle), or grads (400 grads in a circle).

Pressing the DRG key cycles through the three modes. No matter which mode you select, one of the annunciators will appear on the screen to indicate the current mode.

Will not calculate numbers with decemils

The calculator is telling you that the result is 7.5 times ten to the negative 3, or 0.0075 .

If you want to see the result without the exponent, change the display mode. Press SHIFT [SETUP] 6 and then specify the number of digits you want after the decimal point.

The D simply tells you that the calculator is set to Degrees. All trig functions will use degrees. If you want to change this, press SHIFT [SETUP] and select 4 for Radians or 5 for Grads.

I have problem with my calculator i have ti-89 titanium ,i get a wrong answer when i put sin 10 it give me -0.544021 and this is wrong .how can i fix it ???????????

The sine of ten radians is -0.544021. If you want the sine of ten degrees or of ten grads, press MODE, down-arrow to Angle, press right-arrow, and select the angular mode you want. Press ENTER to save the change.

My calculator says DEG in the top right and I don't know how to remove it. Is this something that will not allow me to perform simple functions. Ten year-old children need to use this for class, so it...

The calculator has three angular modes: degrees, radians, and grads. No matter which of the three you select, the calculator will indicate which one it's in. You can get rid of the DEG, but only at the expense of getting one of the other two.

This should not affect the operation of the calculator in any way (except, of course, for the trignometric functions).

How do i find the degree sign

Most of the calculators work in a "mode". That is you select either deg, radian, or grad and then just the format controls what is degree, minutes, etc.

One puts the thing in deg mode and then the entries go as the first entered is degree, the next is minutes, and the last as seconds.

It is kind of clumsy in a way as you have to enter all three parts, although some calculators may default zeros to the un-entered parts.

I cant do graphs on the calculator but it says you can

Hello,
Sorry to disappoint you but this is not a graphing calculator. What you thought was graph, is just the grad angle unit (degree, radian, grad).

Problem with Casio FX 260 Calculator

Read the screen capture about the MODES of this calculators. DEG,RAD, and GRAD remind the user that the angle units in trigonometric function calculations and coordinate conversions are in degrees, radians or grads. They have nothing to do with the other calculations you are doing.

You can only remove DEG by changing the angle unit to RADians or GRADs. In so doing, the new unit indicator (RAD, GRAD) will be displayed instead. There is no point worrying about the angle unit indicator unless you are performing coordinate conversions or calculating trigonometric functions or the inverse trigonometric functions.

MODE 9 cancels the FIX display format: decimal are displayed with a fixed number of decimal places (set by the user). After this key sequence the decimal display format reverts to NORM(al).

Using Cos/Sin

Calculator turns on in "degree" mode. Just enter angle in degrees then press "SIN", "COS" "TAN".

Most people work in degrees but you can switch to Rads or Grads to Degrees modes by pressing "DRG" repeatedly with zero displayed, Current angular mode will show in display.

PROBLEM W/ CASIO fx-260 SOLAR

Sorry, but I think you misunderstood what the manual says. See the not on the screen capture.
True the sentence is not very clear, but what it means is the following:
All modes (except COMP) will have an indicator (with the appropriate labeling) displayed. When in COMP mode the COMP indicator is not displayed.

The truth of the matter is that computation- wise you have two MODES only : the general COMPutational mode and the Standard Deviation (SD Statistics) MODE. These two are incompatible because the key layout is different.

But to compute trig functions
  1. calculator must not be in SD mode, hence it is in COMP mode
  2. An angle unit must be shown on display.
Read the screen capture about the MODES of this calculators. DEG,RAD, and GRAD remind the user that the angle units in trigonometric function calculations and coordinate conversions are in degrees, radians or grads. They have nothing to do with the other calculations you are doing.
