Question about Televison & Video
The set was bought in May of 2007 and has shown a red vertical line from top to bottom about a pixel wide with all connections (HDMI, Component, RF tuner) for a month or so. This line will disappear after the tv has been on for a while. Now there is a second line that just appeared yesterday to the left of it. I can take pictures if it is helpful. I'd rather not have to send it in for service if I don't have to due to the cost to ship it and the possiblility that no problem will be found.

SOURCE: Lines on tv screen
Both sound like bad LCD panels. The following must be answered to confirm this:
Do the lines appear on all inputs/all signal sources?
Can they be seen in the OSD/menu?
If yes to both questions, it is likely that the LCD panel is bad

I assume your Misubishi is not close to anything electrical. However, it sounds like you have had an interference for some time. This will ineviteably cause the HDTV LCD to collapse. LCD's don't respond well close to heat. Is there a vent close? LCD's do well in a properly vented area but with all this said.......they will pick up interference from anything electrical. A few questions to ask ones self........are there any wireless devices or chargers close to the LCD? Might there be an oven, a/c unit or other wiring with 220 volts anywhere close to the LCD such as in the wall?
The Mitsubishi LT is a very reliable, multi component ready set that allows great viewing with surround sound. However, stop and think about this interference. It is not something in the unit. It is an interference. Look hard and when you've discovered it.....you won't believe how crystal clear this set will be.
Let me know what you find...Thanks for using Fixya and add any comments that may help us help you.

This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.

SOURCE: Line in middle of LCD screen
I too had a black line horizontally across the screen (on a 52" d62). It was brand new and was as if the screen had been "pinched" at the end of the line and it radiated outward (in my case, the "pinch" was at the extreme left and line went out to the right, like a crack).
Mine was a factory defect (right out of the box) and was replaced (2 yr now and no issues). This line of yours may have been there from the start and maybe you just didn't notice it?? Not a slam, just an observation.
