My printer is an Epson

My printer is an Epson stylus colour 460. when i turn it on, all 3lights go on and the green light flashes. The printer then starts to print random symbols without me even asking it to print anything!

Help asap as i need tech work printed out asap!!!

- ok so my printer hasnt got a usb lead but i unplugged it from the pc and turned it on... it hasnt started printing random symbols.... i think it needed unplugged or something... sorry for wasting your time guys. The help was appreciated though!! :)

Chances are the main board is fried, but before you bin it, remove the USB cable from it then switch it on. If it continues to print the random data, then most likely it is toast. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

- It could simply be your cable is damaged somewhere. Try a new cable if it starts again with the random rubbish. Also check the print cue is empty.

There might be a print job in the queue that is trying to finish, but because it's in the middle of the job, the commands might confused.

Go into your printers area and click on that printer, see if any jobs are listed and delete them.

Turn printer back off/on afterwards.
