Question about Lexmark X83 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My Lexmark X83 has been working well for several years. Now it's alternating between 2 problems. Occasionally it prints strips of my documents, perhaps 1/3 of the total area, with blank bars in between. The rest of the time the paper feeds through, the print head moves, but the paper comes out blank. My black ink cartridge shows up as almost half full. I've tried "clean nozzles"; it printed one faded horizontal black strip and them some more solid ones. It didn't improve document printing, and the self-test didn't print out alt all. Any suggestions? Thanks for taking time to read this question. --Jo
Have you used a new cartridge.
Do the test for running and cleaning new cartridge heads and the alignment procedure..
(Go to Start, settings, printers, right click on printer then click properties, cartridge maintenance.)
Other thing that might cause problem is build up of ink in right side of machine below printer cartridges.
You will have to strip down machine to get at this area.
Make a note of exactly what action you take when doing this so that you can bits back together.
I use cotton buds to get at the build up of ink or tissue wound round end of pointed object.
Go gently. When you have cleared what you can care reassemble bits and go through above procedure again. Check for any unusual noises that may denote part of mechanism has worn.
