Chek the scaner lamp(upper lamp ) if its working during copy other ways u have to take up the lamp and check it by oem meter , u have to check also the thermal fuse for that lamp on the same unit. I hope that will solve ur problem ,if not high voltage unit above the drume is damaged.

Cspro ep 2030 minolta copying rough in the morning, but okay in the afternoon, solution please

Sounds like the warm up controls are not opperating properly. Or it is in a very cold environment. The "fuser" that provides the heat required to "glue" the toner to the paper may be defective, or the connections to it's controller or the controller is defective. Temporary solution may be to leave it "on" overnight to keep it as warm as it gets in the afternoon. Will take more electricity. But eventually it will need to be repaired, or replaced with a lightly used equivelent. It may be less costly than repair.

of the unit that brings the paper from the transfer & drum to the fuser unit. The unit is black and it looks like tank tracks. From what I remember the fan is acturely in the transport unit ... Good Luck

I have a Minolta cs pro 2080 copier, shading on copies

3 possible causes:
1) The optics are dirty thus making your copy darker. The test for this is to manually lighten the copy using the exposure control on the panel of your copier. Lighten the copy several positions and see if the copy gets better. If it does then the optics need to be cleaned.
2) The copier is overtoned. This means that the toner to developer concentration is to high. This will require a trained technician to lower the toner ratio and then recalibrate the toner/developer ration using the F8 mode.
3) If the shading gets much worse as you run say 10 copies in a row then the drum cleaning blade would be the cause. So run 10 copies of something and compare the first copy out with the tenth copy out. Do you see a dramatic difference in the amount of background or "shading"?
Good Luck and thank you for using Fixya.

I just bought a used EP 2030 CSPRO for my personal Classroom use but when I try to copy it only gives out all black copies. Any idea? Thanks Byron Cowan

Try to copy with the glass cover open, once the scanner moves you should see that the halogen lamp is lighted. If not, either the lamp or the thermal fuse is busted.
