the headset flashes red and blue. Here is the link below for the 510
Unfortunately, the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset does
not have a replaceable battery, it is "hard wired". However the 510
headset does have a one year warranty, so Plantronics will replace it
within the warranty period. If it's out of warranty, you can buy a
replacement if you'd like or buy the newer version which is the
Plantronics Voyager Pro+, which is just a newer, slimmer model and it
also has newer technology (for the same cost). Here are the links
Hearing a Plantronics Voyager 510 headset through a computer:
To use a Plantronics Voyager 510 headset through your computer, you
either need a USB Bluetooth adapter or you must have Bluetooth built in
to your computer. Once the Voyager 510 headset is "connected" to your
pc (by one of the mentioned ways), you may need to go into the control
panel on the computer or the specific software program being used to set
the Plantronics Voyager 510 headset as the "default device". Keep in
mind that the headset has to be powered on and to also have to activate
the headset to connect to the Bluetooth adapter or computer.
Putting the Plantronics Voyager 510 into pairing mode:
With headset on, press and hold the call button and the volume up simultaneously until the headset begins to flash red and blue.
Select the Plantronics 510 headset in your phone when prompted and enter 0000
(4 zeros) as the PIN/passcode if prompted. When paired, the Voyager
510 headset should now have a continuous blinking blue light. Here is a
link below for the step by step pairing instructions.
If the Plantronics Voyager 510 headset is being used with the base
on a regular telephone, you can adjust the microphone volume on the
bottom of the base unit.
If the Voyager 510 headset is being used
with just a cell phone... unfortunately there aren't many adjustments.
You may want to un-pair and delete the headset from the cell phone
totally, and then re-pair it to the phone just to make sure that it has a
strong link or connection.
Also just as a side note about Bluetooth headsets and cell phones.
Typically the simpler the cell phone, the better the Bluetooth
connection and quality.
The steps below will show you how to put your Voyager 510 into pairing mode.
To put the headset into pairing mode: 1 - Start with the headset powered on (the headset will have a blue blinking light). 2 - Press in and hold the + side of the volume button (long, thin and silver) and the Call Control Button (on the microphone boom, oval shaped) until the headset flashes red, blue, red, blue. 3 - Tell your phone to "Find the new Bluetooth device" (see the User Guide or call a local phone store). 4 - If the phone asks for a User Code or passkey, enter 0000 (four zeros).
