Won't turn on

When I press the on button nothing happens. When I hold the button on it blinks and the fans run, I had a noisy case fan but I replaced it, Could it be the bios battery is weak, I never power it off before and now I can't get it on.

It is not due to any BIOS settings.check out this things 1 by 1
1)CMOS battery weak replace it.(its not at all costly just replace it first before doing any thing)
2)the power supply at the end of its life this also needs replacement.
3)if any of the cards or wiring connection moved or got loose while replacing the fan.(just open the cpu and reset all the cards and refit all the connections again firmly tight and do it carefully and slowly.)
4)nothing solves then take it to the repair center they will check out each part 1 by 1 by replacing it.and the fault will be detected.
thanks.

When bios battery is weak computer starts the same, this can be:

faulty start button switch,

faulty motherboard.

other defective devices, like PCI cards can cause the motherboard not to start.

A technician must have a look at your motherboard, check the switch, test the motherboard with a minimal set of devices, and if it is falty replace it.

The bios battery doesn't matter the computer would power up even if it was dead.

have a look around the computer did you possibly do something wrong when you replaced the fan?
possibly the powersupply might be at the end of its life if its old, happened to me a few times, and a solution to that was to replace the powersupply.

PCV R44G, won't boot, no fans, won' turn on.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

I have a fujitsu e8410 which will not start up properly, when i push the start button it shows power but then the fan comes on and the cap num and shift lock leds flash and nothing else. can you help?

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.

What causes red led on starting?

Remove Power Cord then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then put the cord back in and try to start it.

When you press the Power Button are you hearing the fans run, the disk drive running, the cd drive click and the light on it comes on for a second or two?

Anything shows up on the LCD Screen?

If you press the power button and absolutely nothing is happening then you most likely have a bad power supply.

If you press the power button and you start hearing beep sounds or blinking lights in a continuous pattern (ex. 1 long followed by 2 short) then you have a motherboard issue. Those beep sounds and blinking lights tells the technician what is going on with the computer.

Power light comes on but nothing happens

What type of laptop? What operating system?

Laptops don't boot for the following reasons: 1) Bad Power Cord. 2) Bad DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop. 3) Static Charge Buildup. 4) Bad Motherboard.

The above 4 reasons are when you press the power button and absolutely nothing happens. You hear no fans running, no disk drive running, no one time clicking sound on the CD Drive and No light for a second or two when the CD drives click. In the case of a motherboard issue sometimes you will hear beep sounds or see blinking lights. Those beep sounds and blinking lights tells the technician what is going on with your motherboard and why it will not boot. If you see the blinking lights or hear beeps count them.

So you have a power light which means your power cord and dc power jack is good. So lets see if you have a static charge buildup.

Remove the Power Cord and the Battery from the laptop, then Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds put the power cord back into the laptop, but leave the battery out. Press the power button to see if it boots. If it does you had a Static Charge Buildup and it's ok to put your battery back in. If it does not you more than likely have an issue with your motherboard.

Toshiba satellitep205d-s7438 won't boot up

You need to be more specific and tell what happens when you plug in the power cord and press the power button. There are a number of reason why a computer will not boot, but if you tell what's going on someone can help you.

Computers don't boot for basically the following reasons, 1) the power supply is bad. That means when you plug it in you don't see any lights, and when you press the power button nothing happens, you hear no fans, no beeps, no blinking lights, no hard drive spinning, no cd drive clicking and nothing appears on the lcd screen.

2) A motherboard issue, usually when this happens you will either see blinking lights or hear beeps. Those blinking lights and beeps are codes that tell the technician what is really going on.

3) Static Buildup - try removing the battery and the power cord then Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds put the power cord back in (leave the battery out) and Press the Power Button. If it boots up you had static buildup and can replace the battery, count your blessings and Thank The Lord cuz a dishonest repairman would have told you he had to replace the motherboard for $300

Just replaced the battery remote will NOT work.... I have a very high ceiling.... this is getting annoying.... when I press the remote I get a red light wether I ask for fan or light.... light just blinks...

Some remotes have a learn button in them, when it lose its power you need to relearn it. Hold the small button for about 5 seconds, to reprogram it with the receiver. If it doesn't work ,then your receiver may need to be replaced.
