This machine recently stopped all operation and refused to turn on or off. It has no power. A DVD disk is locked inside. HELP????

1. Check the wire to wall outlet for any damage.
2. Check the AC power supply cord is inserted securely into a known active AC outlet.
3. This is a power saving feature. Change "Off Timer" in the "SETUP" menu, if you would prefer. ?One of the unit's safety devices is activated. Press [POWER I?/I] on the main unit to turn the unit on. Check page 13 and 43 of the manual.

Set clock on sd-kv550-su

Hi there,

There are two ways to set the clock on your machine, firstly by using the 'auto clock' feature and also a manual setup, if the auto setup doesn't work then you will need to setup your machine manually. the 'auto clock' feature will atempt set itself up and will take approx 4 mins for the machine to adjust itself. There is also a daylight saving setting which you can either have set to on or off. The auto and manual steps that I have added below have been taken from the user manual for your your Toshiba SD-V295 pages 24 - 26.

Hope this helps,

James

Auto Clock Adjustment
Preparation:
• Turn ON the TV and select the corresponding video input.
• Press VCR DVD selector to select the VCR mode.
(The VCR mode indicator will light.)
1. Connect the Antenna or Cable system.
If you use a cable box, turn it on.
2. Plug the AC power cord to the AC outlet.
3. Make sure the DVD/VCR is turned off.
If you press POWER, the Auto Clock set is not programmed.
4. Wait at least three minutes and press POWER.
5. Press CALL DISPLAY to check the clock setting on the on screen display.
6. If the clock is not set, check the antenna
condition. The AUTO CLOCK may not function properly if the reception condition
is not good.

Manual clock setting
1. Press VCR MENU.
2. Press SET + or – to select “SYSTEM SETUP”, then press ENTER.
3. Press SET + or – to select “CLOCK SET”, then press ENTER.
4. Press SET + or – to set the month, then press ENTER.
5. Set the day, year and time as in step 4.
6. After setting the clock, date and time starts functioning automatically

Panasonic dmres30v dvd/vcr combo total dead no clock desplay ,power ,could it be a fault in power supply sections ?

This could be down to one single component, a swollen looking capacitor. Normally 630uF capacitor on the power/digital board, located under the rear of the Ram drive. Tell me, did this failure happen afer you unplugged the unit?
Kind regards,
G

Panasonic DMRES30V DVD.

Send an email to: mikeadams110@yahoo.com and write "Panasonic DMR-ES30V repair brief" in the Subject field. Tell Mike your problem and he will send you his repair guide.

Basically you need to replace two capacitors (C1204 and C1209) in the unit with higher rated 35V/50V alternatives.
