The printer continues in Self Test, the printer is stuck at this point as it tries to continue to cycle through the power up.

Try to power on the printer without the toner kit and the waste toner box. If the printer stacks again at self test. Next step.... remove one part at time and check if the printer displays any message. First remove the developer unit and power on the machine (normal message "Missing Developer Unit"). Then pull out the fuser unit and power on the machine (normal message "Close Rear Cover"). And finally, remove the Drum Unit and power on the printer (normal message "Call Service 7410").
If the printer still stacks at Self Test, then that is not a good sign. Try to upgrade the printer' s firmware (system + engine). There is a possibility to go further from Self Test.
If it does not, then you have to replace the main pwb.

I had a jam, upon clearing the jam, the printer will hang with the motor turning, and the display saing 'adding toner'. I changed the (new) toner, for a brand new one. Still message will not go away.

Leave the machine working to see the next message of Adding Toner. Usually the next message of "Adding Toner" is "Ready to Copy".
If the next message is "Add Toner", i suggest you to pull the new toner kit out and push it a little bit harder and check again.
If you power the machine off and on again, can you see what the message about toner is, Original or Unknown Toner is installed?

What is Toner Cover and how can open

Usually when we say toner cover, we mean the top cover, which is the cover we open to change the toner kit (catridge).
The error C-6000 refers to the fuser unit. You have to remove the fuser unit and check if the heater lamp and/or the thermistor and/or the thermostat are damaged.

On the display it says call service c6000 and how to correct this error massage?

Hi

Error C6000 means Broken fixing heater wire. In fixing warm-up, the time to reach
50°C/122 °F exceeds 13.5 s, the time to reach 100°C/212 °F exceeds 10 s, the time to reach the primary stabilization exceeds 10 s or the time to reach the secondary stabilization exceeds 24 s. To resolve this try this reset procedure--
Turn off the copier by opening the top toner cover. Turn copier on, when you see message "close top cover" press "system menu" button. Scroll up to "service setting" then press the # button, green "start" button and the "enter" button all at the same time. Now scroll down to "maint mode", press "enter" then enter 163 press" enter " turn off copier then turn back on.
If this doesn't resolve your issue then you'll need to check whether heater M or S is installed correctly. If it is installed correctly then make sure that the heater M or S wire is not broken. Hope this helps...

My photocopy machine, any message....call for service...U2-40

hi elisabeth,

unfortunately i don't have the manual for this machine but on others it's a communication problem with the chip on the toner cartridge.
if you use aftermarket/refilled toner you might have gotten a bad one.
did this error show up right after you changed toner?

KYOCERA copystar CS-1820 ERROR C6000

Your problem is heat related, or the lack of heating at least. one of 2 things went wrong here... either the fuser unit overheated causing the thermal fuse (aka the thermostat) to blow, or the heating lamp in the fuser unit is blown. Basically the 6000 code is displayed when your machine fails to reach the correct temparature at a specific time. Unfortunately you will have to call a service person to check which to of the mentioned components are at fault and to replace that component for you. After replacing, the component the code will still be displayed as a safety measure, so the service representative will need to clear the code via the machine's service mode
