Question about Sony Ericsson w580i Cellular Phone
My sony ericsson w580i was fine until i turned it off. When i turned it back on, the wall paper appeared as normal, but then it disapeared. When the phone is on standby, it says "calls" on the left, and "music" on the right, but when i turned it on that time, the calls and music had moved from the bottom of the phone screen to the top. When i click menu or try to go to any of my shortcuts, i cannot see what i clicked all i can see is "ok" or "info" or "select" or "more" in the bottom corner. I tried taking the memory chip out and turning it off and then back on but that didnt seem to work either. I also took the sim out but that didnt work either.
i dont know what to do and i would appreciate any kind of response or advice. Thankyou
Your lcd cable is probably loose or damaged. I would take it aprt and reseat the cable first.
If you still have the issue, it is probably a bad cable. A new LCD screen and cable run about 15 dollars shipped from ebay..
Check out the following link for instructions on reseating the LCD display and links to buy the screen if that is needed

I hope that helps you out

Push on the shortcut key, scroll down to the end of the list and you'll find "New Shortcut" menu. Click "Add" and browse through your main menu to add shortcut.
PS: All the things you want may not be available for having a shortcut for.

It can be a pain when buttons on your phone get pressed when in your
pocket or bag. You can lock your Sony Ericsson W810i's keypad by
pressing * then Lock keys, or you can set it to lock automatically after a short time.
Enter the main menu by pressing the centre button, then highlight Settings and press Select. Scroll down to highlight Locks and press Select. Scroll down again to highlight Automatic keylock and press Select. Now choose On and press Select.
For added security, you can set your phone to lock with a numerical code. This means that if you should lose your phone, it will require a passcode to be switched on again. You have three options: On, Automatic and Off. ‘On’ means that you will be required to enter the passcode every time the phone is switched on, where as ‘Automatic’ will only require a password if the SIM is changed.
To activate any of these functions, hit the centre button to enter the main menu, then scroll down to the Settings icon and press Select. Now scroll straight down to Locks, press Select, then choose Phone lock and press Select. Before you begin, you’ll need to change the code to something only you know. By default the Phone lock code is set to ‘0000’ so highlight Change code and press Select, then enter ‘0000’ and press OK. Now you’ll need to enter a new code twice in order to activate it.
Once you’ve changed the code scroll up to Protection. Press Select to adjust the protection level. Choose from On, Automatic and Off, then press Select. You’ll be required to enter your passcode to continue, then you’ll see a confirmation message.
