Question about Toshiba 42HL167 42 in. LCD Television
My husband and I just bought our first LCD TV, we decided to go with a Re-certified Toshiba 42HL167, because we would save over $500 than from a new one. What we didn't realize is that Re-certified TV's through Toshiba only have a 90 Day warranty, which frankly concerns us.
We found an extended warranty through GE, but it is really overpriced ($323 for 3 yrs) and we're not sure if we should go through with the hassle of purchasing a warranty if the repairs are not as expensive.
My question is, should the bulb in our TV burn out, how much will it cost us to repair it? And is it worth buying the $300+ in warranty?
Any insight would be helpful.
Yes you should always buy the warranty on big ticket items like, your television. One repair can easily cost you more than the cost of the warranty. Hope this answers your question.
