Would appriciate it if you would correct your mistake and let the customer know that a dual core will fit the motherboard.

As stated by ajdarofeski, it is soldered to the motherboard,

It's soldered to the motherboard with a BGA surface mount.

There are 413 Solder Balls used in the BGA surface mount it uses.

Only reasons I'm posting is;

A) Tried to 2 days ago, and clicking on it wouldn't bring it forward, to provide a solution for it. I could look at the question, but not answer it.

B) It will 'stay on the books', unless someone provides a Solution, and not a Clarification, response.

On an Acer 3100-1718 can I use the socket s1 turion x2 tl-64 without running into problems

Whoa! You are the MAN!!

1) Socket S1 processor socket,

2) Core Technology - Keene
Core Architecture - 90nm (90 NanoMeter. One nm = 1 Billionth of a Meter)

3) Voltage Range:
0.950 Volts to 1.125 Volts. (DC)

4) Front Side Bus = 800MegaHertz

5) Can use up to 25 Watts of power. (Thermal Design Point)

Same specs for the AMD TMDTL64HAX5DC

The Core technology concerns me.

Probably what is concerning you, huh?

Not a very technical answer, but,

http://www.ebay.com/ctg/AMD-2-2-GHz-Dual-Core-Processor-/74092943

,for 18 bucks I would go for it.
Won't hurt the motherboard, just won't work if it isn't supported.

Can MSI MS-6380E support radeon x1800?

http://www.legendmicro.com/store/2940_MSI-MS-6380E-010-KT3-Ultra-Socket-A-Socket-462-for-AMD-Athlon-XPDuron-Processor.lmsp

1) Motherboard uses a Socket A processor socket. Also known as Socket 462.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_A

When they switched from the Athlon single-core processors, to the Athlon 64-bit dual-core processors, they went to a completely different processor socket.

AM2,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_AM2

So using the MSI MS-6380E motherboard with a dual core AMD processor = NO.

I don't seem to find an AMD Athlon 64 X2 1.8GigaHertz processor, except for a mobile version. One used for a laptop in otherwords,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113047

Uses a Socket S1 mobile processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_S1

List of AMD Athlon 64 microprocessors,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_amd_athlon_64_microprocessors

Pretend like I'm from Missouri, and Show Me.

Find the processor by it's AMD part number, and post the URL of the website in a Comment.

http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Venice-Single-Core-Processor/dp/B003RXLMCC

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
SINGLE-core processor, not X2.
(Socket 939 processor socket, too)

Show me the Processor, and then we can go on.

What dual core CPU is compatable with the dragon plus?

hello sir, hi im afraid that the dragon plus has no AMD x2 (DUAL CORE) compatible CPU. if you want a dual core motherboard compatible, get the socket AM2 version for AMD or the LGA 775 for intel processor.

INTEL PENTIUM DUAL CORE

I can't find any info on the mobo. So this is going to be your best bet.

If you download Belarc Advisor from http://www.belarc.com/ it will give you info on your computer and, more importantly, your motherboard. It should tell you what CPUs it supports. If it doesn't, then you need everst ultimate: http://www.lavalys.com/ which is a pay for product.

Restart problem

Hi mewada,

If the system is rebooting itself, it may not be an issue with the drivers - there may be a hardware issue or an improperly seated CPU fan or other peripheral.

I'm not sure from your problem description whether you're able to get into Windows at all - does it just randomly reboot, or does it Blue Screen and never let you in at all?

If you're able to get into Windows and it reboots now and then, try installing the proper CPU drivers. For many games and some other applications, dual-core AMD CPUs require a specific driver. There's also a dual-core optimizer you may want to try. Check at the top of this list.

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html

Otherwise, please be more descript as to when the system reboots and (if you know) what you think you might be doing when it reboots. Faulty memory (RAM) modules and CPUs are the main causes of systems rebooting (other things are generally at fault for freezing up or blue screens).

Nothing!!:) They are both dual core cpus but core2due are the intel brand and dual core are the amd ones. Intel are the top ones just now if you are into overclocking but some of the amd ones are better if you are not.

hope this helps?
