TRIANGULAR SHAPED ALARM LIGHT FLASHING. CAN'T USE PRINTER
ALARM LIGHT IS FLASHING. PRINTER WILL NOT OPERATE. I HAVE UNPLUGGED POWER AND PC CORD TO NO AVAIL. IT WILL NOT BRING THE INK CARTRIDGES OVER. RESUME BUTTON DOES NOTHING. PREVIOUSLY WHEN YOU DISCONNECTED THE POWER CORD AND RECONNECTED THE CORD, THE PRINTER WOULD GO THROUGH A LENGTHY STARTUP MODE.IT DOESN'T DO THIS ANY MORE. THANK YOU.

just saw this yesterday. remove the top rear paper guide. on the left side between the tractor feed and the input slot for the paper, there is a sensor flag that pivots. check for paper scrap caught under the flag. it prevents the flag movement, causes a paper out alarm.
Alarm / Power light flashes orange 5 times consecutively (Print Head / Cartridge Error)

Follow these steps to reset the printer:
Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).
Disconnect the data cable from the printer (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared) .
Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10
minutes, and then plug it back in. If troubleshooting a communication

When the Power and Alarm lamps flash alternately, and P and number (error code) are alternately displayed on the LED, an error requiring servicing might have occurred.
Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply.
Plug the power cord of the machine back in, and then turn on the machine.
If the problem is not resolved, contact your Canon service representative.
2. While pressing the ON button, plug the power cord back in.
The power light should flash an orange/yellow color.
Continue pressing the ON button, and press the RESUME button 4 times. The light changes every time you press it.
3. Release both buttons, and restart the printer.
The printer should now stop blinking and operate as usual.
