''end of parts useful life'' message

Our C86 was printing just fine when I get an "end of useful life" message from the printer . . . and it won't print at all now. We no longer have a manual for this printer, so we can't look up the reference. Any suggestions? Thanks!

received same message. Nozzle cleaning cannot be accomplished andyellow ink does not print at all.
    Can the printer be self-serviced?

Received same message. manual does not address this. At same time, yellow ink does not print nor does new cartridge solve the problem. Can the user service the end-of-useful life components?

Would welcome your help and appropriate software to fix problem. Thanks in advance.

Our printer has come up with a message saying that parts inside the printer are at the end of their service life, and so now it will not print, however print quality has been fine before this message...

You can get this counter reset at a shop, you MAY be able to do it yourself.
This message usually comes up when the waste ink pad is getting full.
The quick answer is ......
Press and hold 'stop' 'maintenance' and 'power' buttons for about 10 seconds, a message will come on the screen saying counter is reset and to turn off.
This may work...
Or the longer answer is here http://www.inkrepublic.com/KnowledgeBase/ResetCounter.asp

It says toner life end and it prints just fine

The toner life end message means the toner is getting low. It will continue to print without any problem. Eventually you will see the print starting to get light in spots. If it is a new cartridge, the toner level sensors are probably dirty.

Epson Stylus C86 - prints faint magenta even though ink levels are in a normal printing range - does not print anything or a barely seen magenta line during nozzle check and heading cleaning

You probably have a slowly worsening clog building up in the Magenta nozzles. It's also possible that your ink is reaching its end of life which, given the age of the C86 is entirely possible, especially if you are refilling or using a CIS sytem with your printer.

If it's a clog issue you can try soaking the parking pad with a mildly ammoniated cleaning solution (original Ammonia windex is good for this) or even distilled water. Leaving this with the printhead parked above it allows the solution to wick up into the nozzles and break down any clogs in the printhead.

If the problem is ink age though you will probably want to carry out the solution above AND replace your ink with a fresh solution. A CIS will need a thorough flush to remove any algae and cloggation residues before you use it again or you will just reintroduce the problem.

Hope that helps.

Error - printer part are at the end of service life, see printing

I have had a R300 for a while now and had a few cartridges in it. Recently a message came up on the screen 'parts inside your printer are at the end of their life' and the printer refused to work!
After searching the web it appears to be a waste ink counter, but I could not find any info on resetting it.
So I tried pressing different combinations of buttons on the printer and success.

Press and hold 'stop' 'maintenance' and 'power' buttons for about 10 seconds, a message will come on the screen saying counter is reset and to turn off.

Thats it turned my printer back on and all works fine again.

I hope this helps R300 owners out!
