Sometimes it is difficult to tell who manufactured some Kenmore products, but it looks like this one was manufactured by GE. That's good, because GE usually packs the conversion orifices with the range so you do not need to purchase any additional conversion parts.
First, locate the LP orifices. They should be in a small metal holder attached with one screw very close to the regulator. (right where the gas hooks onto the range) They are small brass plugs with a little hole in the center.
Remove the burner caps and unscrew and remove the brass orifices which have been factory installed. You may have to find a metric socket, and try not to drop them inside, as they can be a bit of a pain to retrieve. Put the replacement LP orifices in. They do not have to be real tight. Put the Natural Gas orifices back in the holder and replace it in case the range is ever converted back in the future.
Second, unscrew the cap (the pressure blocker) on the very top of the regulator, flip it over, and put it back in.
Third, go to the oven burner behind the lower drawer. There is a brass orifice there which is right by the air shutter. Use a 1/2 inch wrench to turn that down(clockwise if you were looking at it from the top side of the range) three full turns. (it's easier to count twelve 1/4 turns)
That's usually all there is. Your model may have a small screw behind the oven temp knob with a "N , off, LP" setting, so look for that just in case also.

Normally an appliance regulator stem must be changed , to conver the burners. ------------------------------------------------- Turn the power off to the oven.Gain access to the burners on the oven,at the end of the burner there are orfices.Slide the burners out and remove the orfices (they will have a hole in them) or get a paper clip and clean the holes out. Also where the ignitor sparks at on the burner, look at the burner holes and make sure there clean,l

LP gas range oven is full of soot

either the spud on the orfice that feeds gas hasn't been turned down on the orfice or if it has then the air shutter hasn't been opened up to where it says L.P. on the shutter as L.P. needs more air to complete combustion,if the flame can be seen flaring up then its the orfice spud and if this isn't adjusted, then most likely the air shutter hasn't been adjusted either

The wall behind my propane oven is black, why?

possibly the air shutters were not adjusted when new for propane use, most units come set-up to burl natural gas but need conversion to burn l.p. gas by changing the orfices on the top burners, then turning the orfice spuds down on the bake and broil orfices as to control the flow of a heavier gas and also opening the air shutters on these venturi gas feed tubes next to these orfices

Recently purchased Frig. gas stove.Want to convert from natural gas to Lp.Do you remove spud and insert Lp oriface in spud then screw spud back onto line?Lp oriface is a lot smaller than oriface for...

Not really sure which model you have but when converting the over, ether bake or broil burner you tighten down the orfice cap. If you remove the burner off the oven valve you will notice that you can put a wrench on the orfice cap. Just tighten snuggly. If you over tighten you will crush the orfice under the cap.

How do i change from lp gas to natural gas on wall oven

First thing you will need to do is find out from the manufacturer of the oven if there is a conversion kit available and if the appliance is convertable. If there is then you can order the kit and follow the installation instructions. Also check the back of the oven for an envelope that may contain the gas orfice replacement heads to convert the appliance to natural gas. If you find the replacement orfice then you will need to remove the lp orfice from the burner and install the natural one. Then the appliance gas regulator will need to have the pressure adjusted lower for natural gas. There is usually a removable cap on top of the regulator on the oven. When you remove this cap there is usually a small metal ring that you can remove and flip over. It will say "nat" on one side and "lp" on the other. You will need to turn this ring over and re-insert so it displays "nat". This will change the gas pressure from 13 inches W.C. to 4 inches W.C. Some appliances only require the orfice change and no regulator adjustment but make sure that is the case with your oven because if you feed 13 inches W.C. pressure to a burner with a natural gas orfice...YOU WILL GET A HUGE BURNER FLAME AND MAY BURN/FLASH YOURSELF...So use extreme caution when converting a gas appliance. And if the oven has a pilot you will need to adjust the pilot pressure or change it's orfice if it has one. If it is electronic ignition no adjustment to that will be needed. Also unplug the electrical power the the unit while working on it.

Converting aan LP oven to gas

In most cases the pressure regulator has to be changed or adjusted. The orfices on each burner, oven, broiler and surface burner may need to be changed also. Sometimes they can be adjusted. Sometimes the threads on the pipe are different also. This is to prevent accidental connection to the wrong fuel. The big difference is the gas pressure. LP is usually around 10 - 12 lbs and natural gas is usually around 3 lbs. Properly adjusted you will like natural gas much better than LP as it is slightly hotter. The information will be in the instruction book and also on the Jenn air web site. Whirlpool owns both Maytag and Jenn aire so check all sites. The conversion kit is usually less than $50.

on the back of each one of the gas valves including the one in the oven there should be an orfice which you can put a 1/2 inch wrench on and turn all the way in until its snug and also flip the cap over on the gas regulator so it shows "LP" this will convert the range to propane let me know how you make out and BE VERY CAREFUL
