I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, which is about 3 years old. I have had to change my mobile and I have a Samsung SGH M310. The phone uses Bluetooth, for comms, and I have found that my laptop does not have the necessary hardware to run Bluetooth.
Is there a simple way around the problem, without having to buy and install PCB's?

Well because I guess you won't use it all the time a dongle is a better choice, it won't **** extra energy from the laptop's battery all the time, it's easy to disconnect it and you'll still have the card slot for something else like a TV card or whatever.

But if you are OK with dismentaling your laptop and doing some soldering stuff and put it together again than you should try out something like this.

Whenever I log onto windows vista on my hp 6730s laptop with the bluetooth button on and my nokia e51 also with its bluetooth on I get the message three times that drivers for bluetooth peripheral device...

It is because the software for your Nokia phone is not yet installed on your computer for the bluetooth connection... This happened to me as well... so you are not connecting via bluetooth just go to your Control Panel and go to Systems then Hardware and then Device Manager under Other devices, uninstall everything and go to your bluetooth devices and remove the Nokia phone that is in the box (Control Panel >> Bluetooth Devices) you should not be asked again for the drivers once you have rebooted after this...

I need drivers for Windows Vista x64

take a look at:

http://www.anycom.com/produkte/bluetooth_it_pc_accessoires/anycom_usb_250_usb_adapter/?id=103&partno=CC3036&tab=support
or alternatively an MSI driver for their 'Star Key' bluetooth adapter, which works as well:
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=131&prod_no=100

Before you install this make sure to remove all traces of previous drivers that may be installed. This can be done via right clicking the device and selecting uninstall within Device Manager.
If prompted, select delete device drivers from the system.
When this is completed for each bluetooth service, reboot the computer and disconnect your computer from the internet - This is to ensure that on system restart Windows does not download and reinstall the device and services.
Now simply run the Star Key driver installation package, reboot and reconnect the internet connection. On startup Windows may want to install a generic device, allow it to do so.
Initially if all the previous drivers were removed completely, your Linksys adapter should now work flawlessly.

Internal Bluetooth Adapter won't work...

hi...
first what we need to check if the bluetooth software is installed or not, right click on my computer and go to properites, once you click on properties, click on the tab that says advacned and underneath this box you will see an option which says device manager, click on device manager and check if the bluetooth adapter is listed under the category that says bluetooth or network adapter,if you see that there is no yellow question mark under bluetooth option,if there is a yellow question mark then you probably need to reinstall the drivers...if the software is listed and yet it is not getting detected probably we need to reset the bluetooth adapter and also make sure if the bluetooth light on the laptop is on or not,the light is situated on the front of your laptop...
incase the device manager looks perfect then go ahead and reset the bluetooth card
