Sir/Madam,

There should be a teeny weeny hole at the side of the drawer. You inserta paperclip end into this hole and the drawer should open for you. Yourplayer may be fried from the outage. This has happened to me withelectronics that were not plugged into a surge protector. When you doget the drawer open and want to test it to see if the drawer is frozeninto a nonworking position, please use an old DVD you don't care aboutas you might not get the drawer open again. Also Some don't have holes and may need to be opened up and move a gear or slide a lever to release.

The manufacturer of your DV1140 is not longer in business, that is why the phone number is not longer listed.
I would suggest to find a local service tech near you to diagnose the problem with your DV1140 but it might not be worth it to repair it because in some cases the repair cost might exceed the cost of buying a new device.

Try a hard reset. Just unplug the power cord for 30 minutes or more, then try again.

If the reset does not help, you should unplug the power cord, remove the screws so you can

remove the top cover. Then, visually, you may be able to see what is obstructing the proper

    handling of the dvd disc.

It will not be wise for you to take the set to a repair facility simply because the repair,

unless it is under warranty or you have an extended warranty plan, because the cost of

repair is as much or more than the purchase price of a new player.

Let me know more if you do not succeed in getting the disc to move in an out properly.

put the dvd plug scart into the spare scart socket on the vhs player, then u can only use one player at a time,ie if watching dvd put vhs player into standby or vice versa, the other scart socket on the vhs player goes to the tv. when not using either be sure to put both on standby.

RE: My VCR & DVD Video Recorder The vcr part of it only plays in black n white ( there is a picture but not that great) and there is no sound. What could be wrong with it? Thank you so much!

Depending upon the make and model, bad capacitors on the head/drum assembly can cause this. If the heads do not lock at the correct speed, the picture may appear OK, but have no color. Please post the make and model so I can confirm this or attempt to provice more details.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I need a manual to make sure that I connected all of the cords.  When I plug them  in, the Magnavox does go on, but the VSH nor the DVD player works.  So you know that I can not see or record any movies.  I did make a far move.
Thank you for your time and I hope you can help me.

Samsung DLP TV no picture or sound 2 weeks old lamp

Hello, DAvid43, what model is your Samsung DLP tv?

Toshiba Model 42HM66 DLP Projection TV

I strongly doubt it's the lamp assy since you can actually see the blue screen. If the lamp failed, you would not see anything on the screen. This blue screen indicates to me that either the tuner is no longer decoding the signal, in improper input has been selected (ie: input 1 is selected while actual signal is on composite 1), or something of that nature. If you are getting audio then the input is selected properly but the video decoder has failed.

If your cable signal is going through a VCR or DVD, disconnect it from there and go directly to the TV (ie: bypass the VCR/DVD). If your picture comes back, there's some kind of problem with your VCR/DVD player.

If you have multiple inputs, try connecting an input signal to another input (ie: video 1, or aux from a dvd player) and see if you get a picture there. If you do get a picture, the whatever input you're currently using has malfunctioned.
