hi
study how the bag attaches to the machine. usually you turn that bag collar a quarter turn counterclockwise to get that collar off. get ready because dirt will get all over.. then hook the larger end of the hose to where you just took that off. one of those smaller attachments that came with it goes on the other end of the hose to attach it to the mattress or use a small funnel or a straw and duct tape..

How do you make it blow you?

Hi!
You need to take the power nozzle off and attach the thing that looks like a little plastic cup with two hooks on it. This is the intake guard. Attach it to the front. Now remove the cloth bag and put the hose on the hole where the bag was. You'll have to line the arrow on the hose up with the notch on the Kirby and push the hose arm toward the Kirby until it pops on. If you need to, lube up the edges of the hole with a wee bit of vaseline or hand lotion. This makes the hose engage easier. Since you lost your manual, you may need belt change instructions as well. This makes the vacuum blow out to power the suds gun, which should be a part of your attachment set. I like to use half water and half Kirby shampoo in the jar. Place the nozzle on the sprayer for foam. Since you lost your manual, you may need belt change instructions as well. Here is a link to my online guide that will show you how....

Now, turn your massage cup (in your basic set of attachments inside out and hold it on the drain hole. If there is an overflow hole in the sink, you may want to cover it so that you won't be splattered with gunk. lol Now, turn the Kirby on and it will attempt to blow the clog on through the pipe. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. :0) Hope this helps...

I need to know how to use the attachments that came with the Kirby. I know how to use the shampoo/vacuum, but not the other attachments or the upholstery cleaner. Does anyone have any idea?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
1st, you need to un-hook the lever @ the top of the Kirby head, dial off the belt from the Kirby Vacuum Head using the Kirby emblem in the front of the vacuum, that also serves as a hook/spoon to dial the belt off the fan pulley. Once you have removed the vacuum head you now hook up the attachment hose to use the attachments by locking the attachment hose to the top lever. All regular Kirby attachment will fix on the attachment hose end including the spin brush if you have one with your Kirby --- using the Kirby Shampoo spray the soiled area and use the spin brush to agitate the carpet and or upholstery, try not to use to much water. If you have a Kirby shampooer – use the recovery tank on the exhaust port of the Kirby (this means that the cloth/paper bag needs to come off and install the clear recovery tank. Please refer to the Kirby owners manual for any type of trouble shooting that you might need – or please feel free to contact your local vacuum dealer in the yellow pages or contact your Kirby factory manufacturer listed below:

Kirby vacuum

The Kirby air flow can be reversed to become a blower (not pump).
This is ideal for blowing up low pressure items such as air beds etc.
Take off the complete bag assembly by twisting at the bottom and unclip at the top.
Fit the flexible hose to where the bag attached, align the arrows and twist fully until located.
Remove the front brush assembly, lift the front head light flap, detach the belt by twisting the square knob to the red position (off). un-clip the front assembly.
Your kirby should be supplied with a box type attachment (air intake guard) that fits on the front covering the motor spindle and making the safety switch.
Once fitted your kirby should now blow.
