Kenmore electric range model 790 door lock light flashing

Hi, When door locks, This is when oven is in self clean mode. After the heat has cooled down the door should release again. If this does not work try turning the power off to the stove (breaker) This should reset the stove to normal. Call a repair man if this continues. Good luck.

Kenmore 790 electric range

The F1 code is a problem with the very sensitive electronic panel inside and it probably got taken out when the socket shorted out. Here is the part to order. There is a video on that same parts page to show you how to swap the board out.

The stove started beaping with a code of F1 and the stove wont open it has locked itself . And the stove is still on and our turkey is in there it wont turn off...Please help

Cut the power at the breaker. Leave it off for 5 minutes and switch back on, then try to open the door. You may need to let it cool slightly before the door will open. Try this and post back if it doesn't work. I understand the urgency here and I will keep check for a reply. Be sure to post your reply from within this page!

F1 ALARM/ OVEN ON DOOR LOCKED?

Unplug the range and leave it unplugged for 30 minutes, then plug it back in and see if this will release the door lock. If not, give me the model # so I can help you further. You can find it on the frame of the stove where the drawer touches it at the bottom.

F1 llight on, oven locked, stove beeps every few seconds

My stove did the same thing after I cleaned it. I had to have the sensor replaced. That is what the F1 code is.

Oven beeping f1 and f3

Here are the error codes for your range:

F1 Circuit board defective Replace control board F2 1. The oven temp has risen above 665F and the door is not locked or
2. The temp has risen above 965F with the door locked 1. Check oven temp in mode that failure occurred. Replace EOC (Electronic Oven Control) if above limits
2. Check 8-pin connector. Check and replace oven temperature sensor if necessary F3 Oven temperature sensor is open (above 3000 ohms) Check resistance of oven temperature sensor, check for open wiring between oven temperature sensor and control F4 Oven temperature sensor is shorted (below 500 ohms) Check resistance of oven temperature sensor, check for shorted wiring between oven temperature sensor and control F5 Internal watchdog circuit has detected a failure Defective EOC (Electronic Oven Control) F6 Shorted buttons Check push buttons and dome switches on control F8 Logic interrupted (lock motor switch sequence) Check door lock switches and wiring

Most likely problem is the oven temp. sensor. Should check around 1100 ohms at room temp. I would replace that first because it is the easiest and cheaper than an oven control.
