Question about Phones

Purchased Uniden TRU9280 Series on May 5, 2008. One phone since Saturday morning comes up "unavailable". Please help me resolve this problem.

Looks like a set not registered problem. No AC power? Do you see it charging hen plugged into the AC outlet? If not then this is the issue and there might be a problem with the power jack itself. Let me know what you found so that we can try to sort this out..

  1. Make sure that you are not too far from the base.
  2. Make sure the line is not in use. If an outside call is already using a line, you cannot
  3. use that line to make another outside call.
  4. Make sure your handset is registered to the main base unit.
  5. Check both ends of the base telephone line cord.
  6. Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the base and wall outlet.
  7. Disconnect the AC adapter and reconnect.
  8. Change the Digital Security Code (see Changing the Digital Security Code

Problem seems base unit is not transmitting signal (TX) for hand set.
Please make sure base unit has power and handset has full charged battery.

Before you fix it yourself. you must use your warranty for that item. because that is still cover with warranty.

Call forwarding


I have my tru9280 manual. I cannot find how to use the call fordwarding feature. How do I turn it on and off. Help please.

No ring and no answering machine.


My phones work, but the answering machine does not play back. My friends say that the machine on their end leaves a message.

I charged my three brand new GE model 25922 for 24 hours, placed each handset in the main base to satisfy the "PLEASE REGISTER" message and the message remains. The only instruction in the manual as well as on the 800 448-0329 # is to place each handset in the base unit for 20 seconds.
