Re: Cannot stop closed caption
There may be a button on the remote control marked "CC" or "caption" that was pressed and turned the captioning on. Pressing it again should turn it off. You might need to cycle through a few choices before you get back to OFF. If there isn't a button like that, you'll need to use the TV's menu function to turn off the captions. It will be on the menu somewhere, but I can't tell you what he menu looks like because I don't know this TV.

Make sure your closed-captioning is turned off. This box appears when you have captioning set for "text" mode and the set is on a channel where captions are being broadcast. The TV blanks the part of the screen where the text would go, but there isn't any to display. Some TV's have a single button on the remote to turn captioning on, and it's easy to set the TV for captioning without knowing it.
I would make sure that you have the correct model code for the universal remote. I've actually had the same problem because I used the wrong model code. If it's correct, start over. disconnect everything, (will reset all options) and that should solve it.
hope i helped.
It has something to do with the closed captioning. He must have hit the closed caption button on your remote. You need to either turn the closed caption off or make another selection under closed captioning like cc1 cc2. Just keep making selections until the box goes away.
The closed captioning decoder circuit in your TV set may not be working, or the closed captioning information from the station may not be present. Start investigating by finding out if there is actualy closed caption from the station that you are tuned in to. If so, then call the tech support for your set to know if there is something that you missed in the set-up for the closed captioning. It may be very simple. If all of this does not work, then the closed captioning decoder in the set may not be working properly and require service.
closed caption depends on your tv stations. If a tv station does not support providng closed captions, then it will not really show closed captions. Closed captions depends really on the feature of a tv station
Assuming whatever your TV receiving from has close caption. (Not all TV channel has close caption)
Solution 1) Get a new universal remote that support your model and has close caption button. Once you program in the code for your TV model and it works then all button should also programmed including th close caption button.
Solution 2) Search online for the owner manual and read see how to turn it on using buttons on TV (if possible).
Solution 3) Get new TV with close caption. (If you have an old old TV with bad and huge pixels then this solution is the best. Your eyes will thank you.)
