If this is a heat pump it should either be low on freon or problem with airflow over outdoorcoil. (like a fan that failed or really dirty coil) PLEASE keep in mind if this is your first year with a heatpump instead of a furnace it does blow air out MUCH colder than a gas furnace or boiler.
Thanks ,
Brian

Why is hot air blowing out of air conditioner

If it is a wall mounted one like the one in the picture and it is fairly new, and possibly a Fujitsu or LG, it may be by design. Modern AC can run backwards to become a heat pump and takes the cold air from outside, extracts warmth and blows it inside for the winter months. The remote has different symbols for heat or cool.

If not new, and only blows cold it needs refrigerant gas, or at worst a new compressor..

The unit forms ice and it does'nt blow cold

IF YOU CLEANED THE FILTER AND THERE IS NO DIRT ON COIL, YOU MAY BE RUNNING IT TO LOW FAN SPEED. REMMBER IF IT IS ABOUT 70  OR BELOW IN HOUSE YOU NEED MORE HEAT ACROSS COIL INSIDE , TURN AC TO HIGH SPEED AND ICE SHOULD MELT. IF IT DOSENT TURN T STAT TO HIGHER TEMP.

I keep blowing the control transformer when I turn on the A/C. The system works fine when I turn on the heater. When I try to turn on A/c nothing turns on before control transformer blows.Jim...

First thing I would recommend is to go to the closest auto parts store and get an inline car fuse folder and some 5 amp fuses. Connect this to wire that comes off the transformer and goes to R. That way you will only blow fuses instead of transformers.
I will assume this system isn't a heat pump since it runs fine in heat mode. If it is, please let me know. Also, I will assume there is no circuit board outside, but let me know if there's one.

Go out to the condenser and remove the Y wire from the contactor, then try the system in cool mode. If the fuse blows, you have a short in the low voltage wire between the air handler and condenser and will need to find it, cut it out, then re-splice. If the fuse doesn't blow, you will likely need a new contactor.

A/c cooling fine but not heating

The fan generally does not come on until the unit has achieved some high head pressure so that it can produce hot air. If it is low on gas it will not get to this stage.

The furnace is blowing warm air even if the thermostat low.

The only thing that tells the unit to come on and off is the thermostat so I would definatly say it is it. When you turn the system back on, does the a/c run normally? If it does, then it's the problem with the heating side of the tstat. Also, does the fan come on when you put it to on and then turn of when you switch it back to auto? If it does, then the system is working fine, its the t-stat. Let me know if you have any more problems.

3 amp fuse blows on a carrier 58mcb furnace board

Hi!!! Does your ac unit work fine?If not check your low voltage problem..You have a low voltage problem check the wire going out to your condensor make sure that they are not touching..Good luck..Check low voltage wires..short in progress..

Heating not working like it should

The fan for the A/C should blow harder than in heat. The fan should be on high for cool and low for heat. You can change the heat setting for medium but I would not recommend it because it may make heat coming out feel less.
