Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
I checked my RAM using the windows help centre , it informed me that my laptop has 512MB of RAM.
Then i pressed F2 to enter the seires setup and there it said my System memory was 464MB at 266MHz.
If it helps the exact message it says when i turn my laptop on is;
memory write/read failure at 1FFE000C read FF91FE11 expecting FE11FE11.
memory address line failure at 1FFE0000 read FE11FE11 expecting 01010101.
memory write/read failure at 1D00001C read 01EF00EF expecting 00EF00EF.
Decreasing available memory.
The amount of system memory has changed.
Strike the F1 key to continue , F2 to run the setup utility.
....oh , I checked the time/date in the setup utility and it was already correct.
Does any of this make sense to you ?
Really appreciate your time and help.
Well there is certainly a RAM related problem. You have to open your RAM Module, Clean its golden coloured edges and reinsert it properly. Then start your laptop to see if it changes anything. If everything remains same then you have to replace your RAM.
Be very carefull if you open your RAM. Consult your Manual first.
