I read through the forums, found a few posts about waste toner but none match the beast I am stuck with!
We have a Canon IR 5070 and I cannot for the life of me find the waste toner. Nobody in the building knows how to empty it. There is nothing on the Canon website. Can somebody help me? How do I change/empty the waste toner?

Re: Canon IR 5070 waste toner?
If you losen the lower right cover of your machine you will find the bottel there.
This lower right cover you will find on the right side of the machine,it is the lower small cover. There is only one skrew to losen, remove the cover and then the bottle.Empty the bottle and put it back.

To remove the recovery unit, open the upper right door & remove the
developing unit. Be careful to unplug the toner sensor at the front
frame. The plug will be damaged otherwise. From the front remove all the
corona units. Slide out the fuser drawer. Remove the retainer screw
& lock in the drum shaft. Slide out the imaging unit.
Normally nise come from the drum unit when the waste toner is too full.Remove the waste toner by removing the drum unit and remove the waste toner plug and disgard the waste toner and reinsert the drum unit.
This is the error code for a clogged waste toner auger. If you heard a clicking sound coming from the rear of the copier before the error you have clogged waste toner . This may take a long time to clear. May have been caused by not emptying the waste toner bottle when it indicated to do so and the waste toner backed up on itself. You may have to remove most of the items at the rear of the copier to either replace the auger pipe assy or just the slip gears that drive the auger. I've never looked forward to doing this on any of the copiers that have an auger system. If you're not a tech a tech should be called and may take several hours depending on how serious it is to clear. Good Luck.
