Question about Lexmark International Z615; 4800x1200;W/CABLE Printer
I have a lexmark z601 and downloaded the driver for it to my laptop, and it was working fine. then i turned it on one time and the light just flashed on and off, whereas normally the light stays on all the time. if i send anything to print, it just does nothing instead. when i go on lexmark solution centre, it recognises the printer is there, but just says 'trouble communicating', and when i take the lead out of the USB, it switches to 'printer offline'. iv tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, restarting my laptop, removing the wires from the back of the printer and putting it back, and also cheking the ink cartridges. i really dont know what else to do to sort it out...
With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the
driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into
the USB port until told to do so.
To fix a fouled install :
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the sofware asks for the printer connect it and continue
