Question about HP DESKJETS - OFFICEJET PRO L7680 AIO PR Printer

Open Question

L7680 has no IP, Subnet Mask or Default Gateway.

I have tried in vain to add the IP, Subnet and Default gateway to this machine (this is our 3rd replacement) for a Wired Lan. Have tried the automatic and the manual settings. Even the manual settings won't stay when added. Thanks.

Normally most internal LAN addressing is carried out by a DHCP server which issues IP addresses to anything that is connected to the network.
IE your computer. most switches are set to obtain an IP address from them as a default. to find the IP address of youe switch you need to look at your DHCP server ( possibly your router/modem) and see what addresses have been issued. Once you have found the address it is a simple task to open your internet browser and type in the ip address of your switch. once there you should be able to configure your switch as per your requirements.

I just configured my MFC 490cw for wireless printing. It works but now I have IP address conflicts across all computers XP & Windows 7) and X-box in the house. If I turn the printer off, the network...

When configuring an address for the printer, the IP configuration might look like (just an example):

IP Address -

Subnet Mask -

Default Gateway -

It's important to note that even though you are not using any IP addresses in the default range for DHCP, the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway addresses will be THE SAME.

If you have another device on your network that will be assign a fixed address, you would use for example:

IP Address -

Subnet Mask -

Default Gateway -

For any other devices, just increment the IP address by one,,, etc and use the same Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.
(see the owners manual or site for steps on configuraing the printer TCP/IP information). This should take care of any conflicts.

The WGT624 v3 internet globe is blinking but the wireless light is not illuminated

Make sure the physical connection is good between the computer in question and the D-Link gateway. If you do not have a solid link light, try swapping cables. Make sure the ethernet adapter is installed and functioning properly.

If you are running any firewall software on the computer that cannot connect, disable it. Make sure the TCP/IP settings are set to obtain an IP address automatically. Try releasing and renewing the IP address for your ethernet adapter. It should pull a 192.168.0.x address with a subnet mask of and a default gateway of If it does not get an IP address in this range, specify the address to be, subnet mask, and add the default gateway and primary DNS Try and go online.

If it still cannot get online, go to the Control Panel and open Internet Options. Restore the default settings on the Security and Advanced tabs. On the Configuration tab, make sure the Dial Up setting is set to never dial a connection. Click the LAN settings button. All you want selected here is automatically detect settings, uncheck the other two boxes. Try and go online.

Hi. i cant connect to print server d-link dp301p+ IP to configure it?! who knows what IP by default it have? doesnt work... Thanks, Mike

First find out the IP address , Subnet mask, and Gateway addresses of your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ). According to above addresses, you have to complete the network settings of your printer by mentioning the different IP address .

To find out the above mentioned addresses, first open the control panel -> network connections -> local area connction -> properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPV4) OR Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPV6)according to your ISP -> Properties

By the systematic selection as mentioned above you will get the IP address, subnet mask and Gateway addresses.

Suppose your IP address is , the gateway may be Or any number. And the subnet mask may be XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

According to your ISP addresses you have to complete the network settings of your printer. First press the additional functions -> system settings -> network settings -> TCP/IP settings -> fill up the addresses as follows.

IP address : OR any number .

subnet mask : XYY.XYY.XYY.0.

Gateway :

Hurray ! the problem about your network connection with the printer to your computer will be automatically solved.

I cannot get my Wii to connect to my 2wire router. We have not been able to connect ever since we switched to ATT. Please help.

I had a similiar problem; check your PC settings and find out your IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS settings and write them down. (from "run", type "cmd", then in the window type "ipconfig /all")
if your IP address is (for example) mask and gateway is, go to your Wii settings and change the internet settings to NO DHCP, give the Wii an address of with the same subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server setting as your PC. Remember the FIRST 3 numbers of the IP address must be the same and the last one DIFFERENT.

Low lan connectivity or limited lan connectivity

Hello Sir,

all computers on the same physical subnet need to have ip addresses in common
meaning the first three numbers in aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd are the same and are different only in the ddd portion.
In addition, the subnet mask must be alike or ensure that some ip addresses are not excluded
Typical subnet mask is or sometime
Usually, there's a gatway address; a target which is used to send packets out
of this machine and hopefully towards the other machine.

For all machines, use the Run->cmd and enteripconfig /allYou should have similar results on all machines, so look for major differences eg: gateway on one is or not shown while other have non-zeros,
or ip address on one start 169.254 another starts with 192.168

The 169.254.y.z addresses are pecuilar

ms article comments on auto-config:
example : IP-address assigned via Auto-IP-Configuration :
Windows IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Autoconfiguration IP Address.. . . :
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . . . .:
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . . . . :

Good luck

Adding additional computer problem

Yes, the xp machine connects to the net. DHCP is not enabled. The ipconfig/all command brings up the correct static ip address, subnet mask, and default gateway. But it does also say under the ip configuration that ip routing is not enabled. I did have the 2000 machine connected when I first set up the router yesterday, but I booted up my laptop to try to set up a wireless connection, and then I had to reinstall the entire router set-up.
