Carftsman Wireless Wall Key Pad Model 139.53684

I have a Sears wireless wall mounted keypad model 139.53684. When the door is open and key in the code, the door will close. When the door is closed and you key in the code, the door will not open. Wired wall mount and units in car can open and close door. I have replaced battery and changed codes, but all the wireless wall unit will do is close the door. Please advise

I have the exact same problem. Ive seen a solution that says there is interference, but this is not the case. Ive taken the unit off the wall and held it almost against the opener and it will still only close the garage door, not open it.

SOURCE: Sears Wireless keypad will close door but will not open

If you are sure the battery is good than it sound like the keypad is bad and needs to be replaced. With a 6+ year old operator I would suggest a wired keyless entry (Donino GD-1) so if the operator has to be replaced you can use the same keyless entry.

SOURCE: wiring the opener and sensors

The wall button gets the red and white wire. The safety eyes use the black and white wires. There are two types of attachments on the back of the openers. One has three screws. On this type the 1 is for the red wire, the 2 is for all white wires, and the 3 is for all black wires. The other type has four blocks and you just match the color to the wire color.

SOURCE: My keypad works,my remote opener does not, even

It is related. One of the buttons on your wall control is the lock button and has a lock icon on it. Press and hold it for 3 seconds. The blinking should stop and your remote should now work.

SOURCE: My Sears Craftsman Model 139 53684 Keyless remote

Make sure that when inserting the 9 volt battery that those red & black wires are not somehow pinched, twisted or stretched. I just fixed mine... The battery terminal was crushing one of the wires and preventing the battery to supply power to the keypad. I found it out by NOT securing the battery case door and my opener worked fine. Securing the battery case door with the screw and thightening, my opener DID NOT WORK. It was that simploe of a FIX!

The hand held divice stopped working and the mounted pad light flashes quickly. The mounted pad does work.

The most likely problem here is that your wall control is bad. I would disconnect the 2 wires going to it and I think you will find your remote works. Replace the wall control.

The garage key pad has stopped working

The most common problem for your situation is that the battery in your wallmounted key pad needs to be replaced. unscrew the little screw on the face of the device, remove the battery and replace it with one just like it. Radio shack usually has these batteries
