Why does my mouse keep freezing making the laptop become un-usable

First thing to try on this case is to reinstall the mouse driver and its better if you download an updated driver from the manufacturer web site.
If that does not help please post more info about your laptops make and model and also your pperating system.

I have an Acer, Aspire E11. The mouse keeps freezing. I have to keep hitting fn F7 twice to get it to work again. It is getting so bad, I'm starting to regret getting this computer. Is there anything that...

Try updating the drivers in your system Also check with Aspire to see if there are any BIOS updates you need to install. To update drivers do not use ANY driver update software, instead download them from Aspire and install one at a time.

Go to and search for latest driver update. Install driver update. If still problem, mouse electronics are bad. Buy new mouse.

Mouse freezes

This sounds most like a driver problem.
Make sure you have the correct driver for your particular mouse.
Do a web search for you model (on bottom of mouse usually), uninstall the current driver, install the new one, and then manually run Windows Update to make sure you have the latest (mouse drivers would be listed as Optional updates if available).

My mouse keeps freezing, I have to reboot the computer to get it to work again what can I do?

you might have to uninstall the mouse then restart your computer then reinstall the mouse and its drivers
make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable)
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware make sure you have the correct mouse selected also under hardware you can troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have options to update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot
in xp
hope this helps

My wireless mouse keeps "freezing up." I have to click the button on the wired attachment to reset it. This will keep it going for a very short time. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

It may need a driver update, try going to the Fellowes website, follow links to support and downloads. Check if there's a driver update for your model.

Hp s3120n slim line freezing up

Sounds like a video issue. What OS is on the machine? Try updating the video card drivers. If the OS is Windows 2000 or older, update your version of DirectX as well.
If that doesnt work, check system resources. Low memory, and low hard drive space can be a cause.
If all else fails, replace the mouse. Mice are very inexpensive now. Keep us posted.
